    Sunrise Resort Gilli Air, great for families

    We stayed with our two grandchildren, aged 11 and 9. Our grandson has autism and we travel with him overseas multiple times a year to open his mind to new experiences. The staff of Sunrise were the best we have ever come across. They were so welcoming and made us very comfortable and at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. The owner organised our private transfer from Lombok airport to their beach in front of the resort. The resort was beautiful. The pool area was shady so we didn’t need to worry about the children getting burnt. The pool lounges were very comfortable and there were plenty of them. Our grandson only eats certain foods and the staff did a great job preparing them. We stayed in a suite. Upstairs there is a chill out area and the children sat in beanbags and hammocks watching their devices. Wifi was fantastic. Food prices were very reasonable in the restaurant and cocktails lovely. We hired bikes across from the resort. If you are looking at Gilli Air, don’t look any further and stay at Sunrise Resort. You will have a great experience.

    A great 2 nights stop with the family. A bit run down in places but very relaxing stop off as part of bigger holiday.

    Very convenient location and fine for what we needed. A short stop for 2 nights on Gili Air as part of a longer holiday with 2 sons (13 & 11). Beach is great (lots of coral so sea shoes helpful). Lots of good restaurants nearby also good. Property needs a little attention in places but it is fine for what we needed. Some other reviews are a bit negative which is unfair given where in the world it is so people with very high end expectations should stay elsewhere.

    The hotel may not be perfect and giving it a five might be a high number, but the truth is the way that they're rebuilding this thing and the way that they take care of their guest is quite amazing. They're in a challenging situation after they had a huge earthquake years ago and they've been working hard on making this place betterand I've only been here for a few days, but they have been working every day diligently on doing repairs.

    Beautiful beachfront location — the view is stunning and the area is super peaceful. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. I loved the calm vibe of the resort, perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. Great spot to stay on Gili Air!

    We stayed here in 2022 as well as May 2025. Unfortunately our latest visit we found the resort is sad , it’s rundown, restaurant menu not operational, staff moral is low, ceiling fans in restaurant don’t work, poor cleanliness (filthy) in area where coffee and drinks are served from. Drain smell coming from room. However the pool area is very good and the rooms were clean. Need to pick up your act if you are going to charge those prices. Unfortunately we won’t be back because it is a great location and has so much potential.
