Location

This hotel is located in Maiori in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, next to the promenade. The closest restaurant is the Locanda Amalphitana, practically on the hotel's doorstep. Just 20 m away guests will find the Moorea Bach bathing establishment, with which the hotel has a partnership arrangement for its guests. It lies just a few kilometres away from the most famous towns in the area, such as Amalfi (around 5 km), Ravello (some 8 km) and Positano (approximately 18 km).

Facility

Guests have a choice of 23 rooms, including 2 apartments, 2 single rooms and 16 double rooms, located in two 4-storey buildings with lifts. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The hotel offers a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Do not stay here unless you have to. This hotel is more like a hostel than anything else! Very run down and old. Rooms were dirty and the breakfast is less to be desired.

    Unfortunately the negative reviews I read, before coming here, turned out to be true. This place is run down and the rooms (other than a few renovated rooms) are not good. Mould, tattered furnishings, etc., just as previously pointed out by other reviews. The breakfast was truly underwhelming. I would have to honestly say it was not good at all. The alcoves in the basement room have spider webs and lots of dirt inside the ceiling lighting. The outdoor balcony is ok, but certainly not beautiful or inviting. It does give a good view of the bay at night though, as long as you are on the right patio (one for permanent residents and one for hotel guests (of course the smaller less inviting one)). The staff - other than one cranky looking fella (who might be nice but he doesn’t speak to anyone if he can avoid it) - seemed to try their best. They weren’t unpleasant - and some spoke little English. However - in all fairness to them - I don’t speak any Italian and I’m in THEIR country. The location is great. I’ll give it that. But I believe there’s a reason why it’s ranked as #16 out of 16 hotels in the area. I see potential, and I’m not saying I’d never stay there again, but I’d certainly keep in mind that this is more like a North American two star hotel at best.

    The staff, especially Italio, went out of their way to make us comfortable, including providing a range of vegan options for breakfast. Always a lovely welcome too.

    If you have mobility issues do not stay here, there is no lift available, currently all boarded up meaning 66 steps up if you happen to be on 3rd floor where I was. This is also the location of the sun terrace.Puzzled as to why this hotel is rated as 4 star.Breakfast is a dismal affair in a basement room and most mornings hot food (3 choices) had ran out and toaster was switched off.

    The hotel does not offer a pool, but the staff make up for it. The front desk has two excellent day staff, and they advised us to do the Lemon Walk and visit the botanical gardens. These two visits made our trip memorable.After visiting Positano, and forgetting a purchase there, front desk staff went out of their way to retrieve that item for me, relieving me of stress.Diego who operates the breakfast room was also wonderful.All in all i would definitely return, as the location is close to everything. Great place to call home while on the Amalfi coast.
