    Fantastic, quiet, clean, and hospitable stay for going to Unipol Arena

    Great night stay for concert at Unipol Arena. Just a 6 minute drive over. Hotel is cute, shower great size, love the firmer supportive mattresses (thank you for not having those mushy useless mattresses! 🤣) Breakfast was varied and great. Staff was so kind. We forgot our toothpaste and they were so quick to give us cute little sets. Parking onsite was included in a nice little brick garden area that’s private, not just out and open. We have an adorable little balcony with French doors. Only negative was that someone was smoking like a dragon near us so the smoke smell bleeding into our room was not nice. Especially when those people also had a balcony. 🤦‍♂️ But you can’t change selfish people. 🤷🏼‍♂️ We didn’t have free time to explore the area but for a concert 💯recommend! Pet friendly too 👏

    A hotel with modern interior design in the style of the beginning of 2000. Fornasetti works are widely used in the interior design. The overall impression is pleasant.The room is of sufficient size and there is also space to open a larger suitcase.There are quite a lot of places in the parking lot.The breakfast was good, not very rich, but still much better than the average level in Italy.Dinner at the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good and at an adequate price.Opposite the hotel is a small park with a fountain.The room was very hot and the air conditioner did not cool very well and after about 1 hour of operation the air conditioner starts to make a very loud strange sound (like a liquid is bubbling in there), if you turn it off and start it again, the sound goes away, but after a while it starts again " to mumble" (room 410).Such an "adventure" spoiled the sleep, and since one of the main functions of the hotel is to sleep properly, a very big minus for that.The shower is in the tub, but the tub is narrow and the faucet on the wall is in the wrong place and interferes with standing in the shower.There was no possibility to make tea and coffee in the room.     Great alternative to staying in Bologna

    Great alternative to staying in Bologna. On a quiet side street and only 5 minutes walk to supermarket, restaurants and railway station. Hotel is a modern building, comfortable and everything worked as it should. Good selection for breakfast too.

    Boutique Hotel Calzavecchio is a well-priced 4-star Hotel just minutes from Bologna. Housed in a renovated 19th Century building the rooms are well kept with all the necessities, while free Parking and a 24/7 Fitness Center are nice perks.     RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT

    We booked this hotel as a first stop of our Tuscan holiday. However, the Emilia Romagna region has been affected by cathastrophic floods killing 14 people and displacing 20.000. The authorities have issued warning and urge people not to travel to the area. However, the hotel refuses to provide a refund and insist the hotel is "reachable". As a mother of a young child I cannot bare myself to travel to this area and risk my child's life. I can't belive the audacity and evilness of the hotel management to insist so. This is a cathastrophic weather event and my family should be allowed a refund!
