  First off let me start by saying this. When I saw all of the bad reviews on this place I hesitated to book it. However after much consideration my husband and I decided to go through with it. I am glad we did because all of those reviews seem to be wrong. We had hot water the entire stay and the water pressure was perfect. The bed was comfortable and everything worked as it should. The shower was small but it worked for its purpose. Close to many restaurants and shops. Also close to the port if going on a cruise ship. It does get loud at night but we didn’t mind it too much. Just made sure the windows were closed and played some background noise to drown out the sounds. We had the pleasure of meeting Anna the cleaning lady many times and she was very attentive. She even took care of me while I was sick. Told me where to get medicine and what to get. She also made my husband and I pasta and brought it to our room.

  Give This Place a Miss

  This is a private house with 3 bedrooms you share with strangers.There is 2 flights of steep stairs and a dingy hallway with a bike to get round and plaster falling off the walls not a good start.Door opens to a stuffy kitchen sitting room with cupboards full of laundry, sink and fridge nothing else not even washing up liquid floor tiles broken bins full of rubbish would fire the cleaner for sure.Had biggest room not too bad till u turn on air con so noisy, then shower only cold water and cabinet filthy, tv u can only use with your own Netflix or pay for stations and surprise wardrobe more laundry stored no drawers at all. About 6pm hundreds people sit in square eating drinking noise horrendous and we had back room. Next morning cleaner starts banging about at 8am even though check out 10.30 then rudely demands €6 city tax which we had left where told to.This place is for younger backpackers not cruise passengers as advertised give it a big miss.

  Not the most enjoyable couple of days

  The only good thing about this place was location and price. It is old and run down. Could do with a coat of paint to spruce it up. It was extremely noisy with live music outside, the cleaning lady arriving at 8am to clean rooms and common area. She was very aggressive when asking for the tourist tax. Had trouble getting shower water to turn on .unable to use shower as it was a high step up to get in with nothing to hold onto. Unable to use wardrobe cupboards as it had linen stored there. We didn't use the shared kitchen so can't comment. If you have mobility issues do not book here. We had large suitcases and struggled to get them up the stairs.

  I needed a cheap place to stay for 1 night before boarding my cruise. This was close to the train station and close to the port shuttle pickup. However, the free shuttle pickup has been stopped. There is a pickup in front of the train station for $6 euro. Be advised if you have luggage, you will be walking on cobble stone with your luggage and there will be some inclines. Then there is about 20 steps to the unit. The unit is 3 rooms with a shared living room type space. I stayed in the Mimosa room which has it's own bathroom. The bathroom was small. If you are of any size larger than small, you will struggle getting into the shower. I have never experienced a shower so little in my life. Your knees touch the sink while sitting on the toilet. The bed mattress felt like a piece of foam. The day I arrived, it was warmer and I had just walked from train station with luggage and carried them up the stairs. I asked about A/C and was told they did not allow it to be used until summer time. So I opened the windows. Since the place is inside a square, there is a lot of noise. There were also mosquitoes. With that being said, it was very close to many eateries and sites. Great location for walking. I am glad I only had 1 night as I could not comfortably stay here for more than that.

  Good place for a pre-cruise stay

  The B and B is very handy for walking from the train station and to the port. Its located in a very nice Piazza with plenty of bars and restaurants.The main door is accessed via a key pad with the code sent prior to your arrival and from there your key is left in a key box. There was a small kitchen sitting area which led to two room at the rear. My room was small but very clean and tidy with a good sized bathroom. The aircon worked well but was a little noisy.The walls were a bit thin and I could hear the guest in the next room snoring !You get a voucher for a coffee and croisant which can be redeemed in one of two cafes. I went to the nearest one just near the B and B. Which was fine.Overall this place was a bargain and I would stay again.
