Delightful Florence

Hotel California was a delight! Great location and very nicely done up rooms. Comfortable and modern. Walking distance to the Duomo and the centre. Reception staff was helpful . Nice Terrace & Bar to unwind with the Duomo view. Breakfast could be improved but overall a very good stay. Hotel California is definitely a recommended for Florence travellers. Would love to come back and stay here .

Great location close to many attractions

This hotel in Florence has an excellent location to the major attractions and squares.Also, it's only a short can ride to the train station.The hotel is charming but dated. Get used to walking the mazes throughout hotel as this hotel does not have your typical hotel layout. Not to nention the secret doors to navigate through.The breakfast was satisfactory but not outstanding. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. There's a great Cafe a few doors down from the hotel where we got our best Americana coffee in the city.Would recommend staying here mostly for the location!

The room was small and had to go up/down 9 steps from elevator. Small corner window that I was told not to open. Safe(?) did not work. Rooftop bar not opened or did not have selection of liquor. Breakfast bar second floor not opened. No coffee maker in room so you have to go down to lobby. 1 free bottle of water then they charge. Only one female staff greeted you at front desk. Others were robotical At best a 2 star. Location was the only great attribute

Amazing location and beautiful room.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 351 which is in a quiet ‘hidden’ section of the hotel. Our room was nicely decorated, plenty of space and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Bathroom was large and the room was very clean. The hotel is in an amazing central location beside the Duomo. You are 15 minutes walk from the main train station and so many restaurants near by. A wine window just on the next street. The breakfast area is nice and the choices more than adequate. There is a roof top patio you can have a drink on as well. I read some rooms were small and outdated but our room was wonderful. Could book here again.

Two-Star Pensione, not a four-star hotel

This is a two-star pensione, it is certainly not a four-star hotel. It is in a very good location, but very run down, not clean, the rooms look like a good hostel or pensione. Do not need to lie about your star rating. Otherwise, the location is good, right next to the Duomo.
