  My bad experience ever I had

  First they didn’t gave us the rooms what we booked from booking they ask extra money .. later they said one day parking 50 euro and last day I was staying 17 hours and I made check out I asked to keep car 2 hours more General manager was fighting with me and scream to me Ask me extra 50 euro for that .. at roof very nice view and restaurant but food awful I never have that kind of bad foot in whole Italy ( I am travelling a lot , every month ) when i said to Manager you have such a nice roof why so bad service and food he said me you are wrong we have amazing food .. I booked from booking com and they even cancel after using they hotel to put our experience feed back .. I am traveling alot never seen that much negativity and bad hotel .. thats not 5 star ..   Beautiful hotel in great location

  We spent 6 days here and loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was big and spacious as was the bathroom. The air con and black out curtains were perfect for a good nights sleep. Plenty of choice for the breakfast buffet. Roof top terrace was lovely in an evening. If I was to wish for anything it would have been more gluten free options and a more reasonably priced bar as felt it expensive. Short walk to the rail station for homeward journey was also handy.   Brava, Rosario!

  I don’t know what we were expecting when we booked this hotel at relatively short notice, but we were truly impressed with the Carrick, & would heartily recommend it to anyone! We’d booked the ‘superior’ (standard) room, & this was much larger than the photos on the website suggested (I believe the unusual ‘triangle’ shape of the room can look deceptively small in photos); the bathroom was clean & well-equipped, and the dressing gowns & towels provided were exceptionally soft. The breakfast was superb, with myriad fruits, yoghurts, jams (thankfully nothing from Sig.ra Markle’s collection 🙂), cold meats & cheeses, & an outstanding bread selection, featuring at least four different types of croissant alongside the rolls, white, rye, & brown breads, & ubiquitous focaccia. The breakfast espresso was first-class, & as a sparkling water addict, I was very pleased to find both naturale & frizzante bottles available alongside the juices at the drink station. While we didn’t partake, there were also hot options, with scrambled eggs, sausages, & bacon being available.The rooftop terrace, featuring sun loungers, umbrellas, a bar, & the hot tub with views of Camogli & the bay, was delightful: beach towels were provided here & could also be obtained from reception for the trips we made to San Fruttuoso.Undoubtedly, though, the most impressive feature of the Carrick was its staff, all of whom couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly, & polite. Particular plaudits must go to Rosario, the manageress at reception who was so helpful & committed to us, variously welcoming us on arrival with glasses of Franciacorta, bidding us farewell with some biscuits for for the ‘plane, & of course chasing/making dinner & lunch reservations when the restaurants in Camogli/San Fruttuoso seemed unwilling to answer the ‘phone/emails/instagram posts, alongside arranging a taxi for us to visit Mille e una Notte when a Foccacia Festival in Recco meant such vehicles were thin on the ground (indeed, a further example of her commitment to her position and to us - the taxi she managed to obtain was essentially a delightful friend of hers who agreed to take us up into the hills & collect us later on), but these are but a few examples of how marvellous she was in Her work: Brava, Rosario!   So disappointing!!!

  We paid €350 for a room on a Saturday in early June - the price was bonkers but we thought let’s splash out and treat ourselves … Famous last words. I don’t think I’ve ever been so let down at a 5-star hotel or any hotel for that matter, ever! Everything was below par, from the bizarre room design (the TV faced the door not the bed!), I could only add one piece of luggage to the ‘walk-in’ wardrobe and the noise coming from a private event in the only bar in the hotel was unendurable, to the crappy breakfast (horrible filter coffee and juice from cartons - from the land of oranges!!). The hotel is so badly designed that noise is funnelled through the central lift shaft and dispersed throughout the whole building. It would be funny if it hadn’t nearly ruined our last weekend in Italy. Staff tried their best but this is a poor poor excuse for a hotel. Avoid it all costs. I’ll happily answer any questions if you’re considering booking.

  Wonderful Stay - Exceptional Staff

  We spent 5 wonderful days at the Carrick Hotel during a recent trip to the Ligurian coast to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. This is a lovely and modern hotel in Camogli and you can easily walk down into town and the beach, but you are just a bit removed from the crowds, which is nice. We had one of the rooms with a deck and personal jacuzzi and we spent a lot of time enjoying the view, soaking in the tub, and smelling the lovely jasmine that grows all over the front of the building. The complimentary breakfast was spectacular each morning, with lots of sweet and savory options. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, but the breakfast area staff were exceptional and created a wonderful way to start our day. We especially liked that breakfast was served until 11 for those of us who like a little later start to our day while on vacation.
