    My grandson booked this hotel to surprise his girlfriend ,he is 19 and saved up for this ,paid 997 euros for 4 nights ,stupidly non refundable , he realises now big mistake .Due to unfodeen circumstances cannot now go on these dates 19/05 2026 to 02/06 /2026.That is a lot of money for a young man who has worked very hard for a holiday .The hotel refuses to refund or even part as a goodwill gesture.I have spoken to hotel receptionist and she suggested emailing ,3 emails and no reply ,I find this really bad for a hotel to not even offer anything whatsoever ,he now can’t have a holiday at a later date as he has lost 997 euros .i know the hotel can sell the room on so they are not very nice people to not even answer .It really upsets and annoys me when people are not willing to help.Yes it was his own stupid fault and a very hard lesson for the future .Hope it makes you feel good Marina Place Resort keeping all that money .

    The room was large, clean, modern, comfortable and quiet. We slept well on our nights there! We chose it because of the good reviews and we would stay here again. Location was great . I give it a must stay, and if I ever come back to Genova I'll be sure to stay there again.

    Poor maintenance - plugs not working, and when you want to unplug the whole piece comes out. Hotel very old.Some services of the hotel were diminished due to an event inside the hotel, and the access to some areas restricted (no access to the main and nicer restaurant), so we had to leave the hotel and look for a restaurant in the city. Live Music during that event till 24:00, so the other guests couldn’t sleep.To access the hotel we waited 15 minutes in the barrier, no idea how to enter, you need to press SOS button 😳I know other NH hotels with 4Stars and this one doesn’t deserve this level.The best of the hotel: the service and treatment. This is the unique thing which has this hotel that is 4Stars

    beautiful hotel with bad service

    Person at the frontdesk speaking only Italian. That's not acceptable for an hotel of this quality.I paid the most expensive room in order to have the turkish bath in the room. But it can only be activated from the frontdesk. And, they didn't mention it when I reserved, but there is nobody on sunday working at the frontdesk...So, no turkish bath.

    Stayed just one night in a room with a mezzanine for the bed! Novel but no head room and very warm as no ventilation in the top of tgeroom. AC did not work either and amenities test had just a single creamer. OK so called front desk and night porter said he would adjust the AC ...that didn't happen , and send up some more creamers...that didn't happen. So I ended up on the couch as that was next to a window I could open! Genoa and open windows are not the best crime prevention strategy! Big apologies from hotel reception when I checked out but no plasters for the bruises on my head caused by the low ceiling...Ok if you're sub 5'!!
