Awful, give this one a miss

    rating24 May 2026

Stayed as part of a leisure group. Hotel is tired and outdated. Reminded me of Spanish hotels of the 1970’s.Food awful, pork the only meat option for four nights on the trot. Poor quality.Understaffed, this led to really poor quality of experience in restaurant. Food ‘thrown’ down in rush to get service done. No finesse, staff at times grossly impolite. The one highlight were the two ladies who served in the bar. Despite been very rushed, always had a smile.

I feel compelled to write a review for the hotel Palme & SuiteAfter reading a lot of the reviews I was worried & didn’t tell my husband as we needed a good holidayI’m so glad I ignored the bad pressYes it’s dated , but that’s all that’s wrong Staff were hard working & friendly , Food was of restaurant standards & more than enough choice Our room was cleaned daily & new towels every day We had 7 nights of half board basisMy husband & I would not hesitate to re visit

    Fab 4 day break

    rating26 Aug 2024

Just returned from a 4 night break at this hotel. I was dreading it after reading the reviews but I can honestly say we had a great time. Yes it's dated but so are a lot of hotels in Lake Garda. Pool area could do with some work . All staff were fantastic. Make sure you have the 3 pin adapter as we didn't but the hotel had spares as soon as we asked.

    Honest review

    rating25 Aug 2024

I don’t usually write reviews however upon reading previous reviews prior to booking I was very dubious about staying at this hotel but decided to take a gamble in that we weren’t planning on spending much time at the hotel and we’re mainly using as a base. I can honestly say it is really not as bad as some reviewers have reported, whilst it is somewhat dated I actually felt it gave it a certain charm. It is graded a 3 star and that is what it is, you cannot expect 5 star. It is very clean, sheets and towels changed daily. We stayed in the Palme suites which is separate from the main hotel. Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful and restaurant staff too. We stayed on a half board basis, the pasta dishes were always excellent, the main course of either fish or meat were not always to our liking and with all the lovely reasonably priced restaurants in Garda in hindsight would have been better to have booked bed and breakfast. Location is excellent 5 mins to main bus station, supermarket just across the road and again only 5/10 mins to Garda town. The hotel was occupied mainly by elderly Germans who were out very early at 7.30am putting their towels down to reserve their sunbeds, maybe this is something that could be controlled by the management. Garda is very beautiful, and I am glad that I chose this town after reading reviews that it was the best town to stay in for first timers to Garda, it is very easy to catch buses and ferries to other towns which we did. Malescine is beautiful as is Sirmoine, was slightly disappointed with Jamaica beach in Sirmoine as it was extremely difficult getting in and out of the lake due to the huge flat rocks being covered in algae and making it very slippery. Monte Baldo is amazing and definitely should be visited, as is the thermal springs in Cola. We were planning on visiting Gardaland but did a one day ticket where you can go to Movieland and the water park next door which was fantastic, no queues apart from one jeep ride. We booked the Venice trip with the ATV bus which was great value for money compared to some of the guided tours and gave us plenty of time to take a gondola trip, wonder around and have lunch. Can highly recommend Europlan for airport transfers, punctual, keep up to date with messages about timing, very reasonably priced. The driver went out of his way to return a mobile phone to us that was in the vehicle. All in all a fantastic holiday in Lake Garda!

Dissapointed, shabby and dirty~check travellers photos section before booking~And filter most recent reviews~

    rating17 Jun 2024

Hard to know where to begin with this hotel…So I’ll start with the positives… unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives..THE POSITIVES…LOCATION~This is excellent! A walkable distance to shops, restaurants and lakeDINING ROOM & BAR WAITING TEAM~These people are incredible, efficient, super friendly and a credit to the hotel. How they maintain this with such an ignorant dining room manager amazes me!THE NEGATIVES…ACCOMMODATION~The rooms are way below a 3 star standard…please see our photos..We moved immediately from the first room which was on the first floor to the front.. on entering the room the smell of cooked fried food filled the room and after looking on the balcony was right next to the industrial extractor flue…not goodTiny room with single beds, tiny shower..2ND ROOM~ We just took this as no other rooms available we were told.3rd floor opposite the lift. Room was to the front so yes you got a good view of the gardens but below was where the coaches parked to collect and drop off also the drop off for laundry deliveries. If you are booking and want aircon, this is not turned on till July so be aware.Although I’m told it’s the Italian law, they did have aircon in the bar area at night for people buying drinks..Our room was depressing! Glass partition on balcony smashed, green plastic patio chair seats broken, bedside lampshades literally hanging off the metal frames(they did replace one ) damaged and cracked bidet, so unhygienic and not useable..these rooms are really budget!I don’t come away to sit in a room but we didn’t want to go in it at all. Having no drinks facilities made it really uncomfortable..I was wishing I had bought a travel kettle at this point but thought It cannot be as bad as I’ve heard…but yes..it really is!There were cheap disposable plastic cups in your room, that is all there was.. I enjoy sitting on a balcony having a night cap, drink whilst getting ready to go out, coffee on a morning if I wake early…forget it.. no facilities! The food smell was still present in this room but what can you do. Going out with freshly washed hair that smells like youve been sat in a greasy cafe…niceSWIMMNG POOLS~ I did not go in these…the green algae all around the base of the pool edges (again see my photos)and stuff floating on the top screamed health hazard to me. I knew it was never heated …ever, but there appeared to be no filtration going on. Having worked on a holiday park with outdoor pool I know only too well what measures have to be taken to keep it safe and hygienic for swimming !DINING ROOM~The serving team here are really pleasant, polite and do a great job. The dining room manager on the other hand is arrogant and anything but polite. Be prepared to get up mid meal to pay for any drinks at your table with your meal if you do not have cash. He comes to collect drinks bills during meal times with his wallet. If you are paying by card be prepared to leave your meal half way through and go to the till point to pay. He told my husband to go to the till, my husband asked ‘now?’..he just replied yes and walked off!The food here is pretty good, plates and cutlery all set out for you , what I really did hate was that the fork and knife you used for your pasta course had to be reused for the meat course..putting dirty cutlery down on tablecloths used looked so bad. I ended up wiping my cutlery on a cloth napkin as no option. I tried once to hand my pasta plate with my cutlery and they gave me my dirty knife and fork back for the next course…pretty grim I think. This is nothing more than a real budget hotel and can get away with it due to the amazing location…Check reviews, filter to most recent, not the great ones that come up recommended..check the travellers photographs Then decide. We would not return to this hotel
