  Lovely hotel, great location, near everything, great restaurants nearby and quick walk to the ferry boats. The staff are lovely and very helpful with any questions about places to go, how to get there etc. Thank you to Erico and all the team at reception who do a great job and are very welcoming. Everywhere is kept spotlessly clean and rooms are serviced every day, so thank you to the housekeeping staff too. Also, breakfast is lovely. Only thing I might suggest is that a mirror be placed on the table in bedroom, for doing make up etc and also, perhaps request the city tax on arrival rather than at the end please. We had forgotten about it so were a bit surprised when asked for it when checking out. Sorry if that is the custom there, but I would prefer to pay at the beginning of holiday rather than the end 😄 But we were very happy overall and would recommend this lovely hotel.

  Found this place as a last minute booking for a week away. We know the area well so knew what to expect from the location, but were a little nervous about it being 3*. We were so wrong!! This place is great! Our third floor room with good sized balcony had an amazing view of the lake. The bed was extremely comfortable and perfectly positioned to wake up with that view and the sun on your face. Holiday!!The room was spotless, and although the en-suite was quite dated, it too was very clean. This is one of the most important things for us, and the cleaning team were amazing, a real credit to the hotel. Everyone at the Riviera was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely be going back. Desinzano is one of our favourite places as it’s the best base to explore the lake. The ferries are a great way to travel. We’d also recommend the nearby La Perla restaurant.

  Buyer beware: Despite the fact that I booked months in advance, very specifically reserving the Comfort room with a balcony, the hotel messed up and somehow gave me downgraded rooms for all three nights. The first night, I was put in an internal facing triple room, then the next two nights I was in a smaller classic balcony room. Imagine the inconvenience of having to switch rooms during your Italy vacation. They apologized and refunded me a measly $60 total, which is an absolute insult, considering this was during peak season. There are so many options in Desenzano and Lake Garda in general— pick something that will fully honor your reservation that you book months in advance. Another thing I learned is that Italian hospitality doesn’t apply during their breakfast time; I constantly had to get up from my table to actively ask the nonchalant waitress for coffee every day.

  Excellent location, great view of Lake Garda. Breakfast options were great, we travelled with a 4 month old baby. No problems sleeping with the balcony doors and shutters and air conditioned roomGreat location for the ferry for day trips to Sirmione etc and the train station isn't far away either for trips to Venice, Verona and Peschiara Del Garda

  I chose this hotel for its lakeside location and it didn’t disappoint despite the ongoing work to improve the Lungolago. Our room had a balcony overlooking Lake Garda and was pretty well equipped and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was arranged by the hotel in an underground car park about 2 minutes walk away. Breakfast was included in the room rate. The town of Desenzano is a few moments away on foot and has loads of restaurants, cafes and bars. The only downside was a rather flaky internet connection, it worked some of the time but then just stopped. Overall, I’d stay here again, but would avoid Italian holiday season.
