  Beautifully maintained, clean and spacious hotel. Superb food and bar service. The staff worked very hard and were always very polite and helpful. The front desk staff were very helpful in helping us to plan out excursions and giving us advice. Spotlessly clean rooms, as was the whole hotel. Lovely well maintained pool area. Would definitely recommend this hotel and consider staying there again.

  Treat yourself to an extraordinary experience

  Something out of a dream, like waking up in Downton Abbey, but with modern conveniences. We stayed in room 318, with a full view of the Ligurian Sea and a private balcony. Fresh robes every day, tile floors, and attention to every detail. The staff wear three-piece suits with ties, and attend to everything a person might want. There's a huge swimming pool, with comfortable seating and a poolside bar that serves lunch. The breakfast buffet was an endless affair, with separate tables for sweets, fruits, cheeses, meats, eggs, cereals, real honeycomb, jams, anything a person could imagine. We ate dinner out, but the menu looked wonderful and there was often a pianist. One of the best hotels we've stayed anywhere in the world. This is a place to leave your cares behind you, and discover your best self.

  Lovely Hotel, Excellent Pool Area, But Beware of Street Noise!

  We stayed half board for 3 nights over a weekend. Firstly, the staff were exceptional. So helpful and pleasant. The food was also very good with a choice of pasta, meat and fish dishes in the evening, served in a large, elegant dining room. One of the big selling points of this hotel is it's excellent pool area and surrounding gardens. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were quite large and very clean, although maybe slightly dated. One negative would be the noise of the traffic, which was, at times, disruptive despite us being on the 5th (top) floor.

  Amazing hotel

  We stayed here for 7 nights back in September and absolutely loved it! The staff couldn’t do enough for you and were so polite. From reception to the bar, you were met with smiles and a good morning/good afternoon every time you walked in. The hotel was spotless, both the public areas and our room. The house keeping staff cleaned our room to a high standard every day, refreshing towels and generally tidying up. The food was the best we have eaten in a hotel, especially dinner in the evening. Each course was fresh and delicious. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and I enjoyed working my way down the cocktail menu!The hotel is perfectly situated with the train station just a 20 minute walk away, the park just round the corner and the beach and shops opposite. I can’t recommend this place enough, it has the real wow factor and we won’t hesitate to return if we find ourselves visiting the area again.   Almost perfect

  I requested a twin room with walk-in shower following a hip replacement three months ago. On checking in with the highly efficient desk I had been allocated exactly that, with the bonus of a small balcony and side, sea view. The bedroom was spotlessly clean with frequent change of classy linen and fresh towels daily. No sign of those highly irritating notices requesting you to reuse towels. Pool towels left in the room were also replaced frequently.This is a grown up hotel that only permits grown ups to stay, the public rooms mirror the bedrooms, some might call it shabby chic, I call it a classical Italian gem.All the staff we encountered were friendly and professional with a charming mix of ages and experience. The gardens and pool area are superb and remained open into October, possibly later than normal owing to the exceptionally clement weather. The breakfast buffet was standard fare for a four star hotel with a good range of food but no show cooking, although there was an a la carte option available. Disappointingly there were no hot plates available should hot breakfast food be your choice, moreover the eggs on the buffet were never hot.Dinner was a revelation for choice and quality of cooking with a menu that changed daily and three courses, four if you partook of the buffet prior to having your three chosen courses brought to you, by the waiter. Overall the food was the best I have ever enjoyed in a four star hotel but again there was, on occasion, a desire that that the accompaniments with the main course be delivered to the table hotter. I accept this requirement may be an English thing.The bars and the wines were faultless and reasonably priced.When I booked this holiday my sister-in-law and her husband investigated the hotel on line and asked if they could come with us, happily they loved it just as much as my wife and I did. We all hope to return to this almost perfect and decidedly grand hotel in the near future.
