Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    rating07 Feb 2026

We loved this hotel! Large, clean room with great aircon and comfortable bed. Breakfast entirely adequate and good coffee (important!). Quiet courtyard if you need some downtime. Reasonable price, especially for central Milan. Terrific location near Corso Buenos Aires shopping precinct and metro station but hotel rooms are quiet. Reliable wifi. Staff were incredibly helpful and kind (and funny!). Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

    Was fine for one night

    rating27 Mar 2025

We needed a hotel near the train station for one night and after reading reviews and checking prices we chose here.It was fine for a night, clean, roomy and comfortable but not great service or breakfast. We found the staff a bit unfriendly,a smile would have been nice. When we checked in we were immediately asked to pay the city tax, something every other hotel we've stayed in in Italy has taken when we left. They insisted this was in cash, again a first for us. We didn't have enough as we were heading home the next day so he agreed we could pay later. When we returned with the cash he just dropped it in a drawer, no thanks, no receipt. Of course this came back on us when leaving with a different staff member behind desk who wanted payment again. After a discussion he decided to believe me.Breakfast was very basic, some juice, cold meat and cheese and pastries.Coffee was offered once, it would have been nice to have had the offer of a second cup but in saying that we weren't keen on hanging around the small eating area.On the plus side the room was huge, we had a double bed and two single beds, lots of space and the full hotel was spotless. The metro is two minutes walk away so it was perfect for us as we had a late flight home. The hotel was happy to keep our luggage and we were able to use the metro to get around, see the main sites and get back to hotel, pick up bags and then it was only two stops to the train station. There are plenty of eating places nearby, a special mention to Rosso Mattone, if you're in the area I can really recommend this restaurant, the hotel probably not so much. A friendly welcome and service is really what I'd expect from any hotel and it was sadly lacking.

    Wonderful little Hotel

    rating09 Dec 2024

I had a wonderful stay in this quaint little hotel (I believe 18 rooms only). My room was huge by European standards, but I have no complaint. It was functional and very comfortable. The hotel is very clean. It can get noisy in the wee hours of the morning because of the garbage truck so I would suggest getting a room away from the street. Breakfast was limited but very filling. I always look forward to it especially the pastries and the cookies and in 2 occasions of my 6 days stay, a cake which was really very good. Location is perfect, you are walking distance to shopping, the Central Station, subway, and groceries. Lastly, the staff, even in their limited English, they went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I have already requested for a room this coming March 2025.

    A day in Milan

    rating17 Sept 2024

The Dore' is the perfect stopover in Milan. It's right off the main street Corso Buenos Aires & about a 45min to 1hr walk to Duomo. We window shopped a lot!! Our host Angelo was sweet, and I swear never slept. Room was a good size, comfy bed & quiet. Nice selection for breakfast & perfect Cappuccino. It's a small clean hotel. We walked, shopped, ate & drank in 5 hours. This was just a stopover for us. I would recommend a full day. All around the main square are high-end shops, cute cafes and spectacular views. We ate at Panzerotti Luini, everyone goes there! It's like a calzone, so delicious. No seats, you stand outside and eat. Had drinks at Aperal Spritz with views of the Duomo.

    Lovely home from home

    rating10 Jul 2024

We loved our stay at the Hotel Dore. A lovely, old-style family-run hotel 2 minutes from the main shopping street (Corso Buenos Aires) but quiet - especially the rooms at the back overlooking a little courtyard. Everything very neat and clean - comfortable, generously sized rooms and excellent air-con which was important on very hot days. Good breakfast. Best of all were the staff, who were so helpful and friendly and really made our stay here special. We would stay here again (and again!)
