    Disappointing Stay – Not Worthy of 4 Stars

    We booked this hotel expecting a comfortable, centrally located stay in Milan. As a four-star property, we anticipated a great breakfast, modern and cozy rooms, and the option to relax with some Netflix after a long day of exploring.Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Our initial room was extremely noisy, facing the parking area and nearby bars and clubs, making it impossible to sleep with the window open. Early in the morning, the noise from rubbish and glass collection added to the disturbance. We also couldn’t use Netflix because the Chromecast wasn’t working. We were told it would be fixed the next day, but it wasn’t—in fact, the hotel no longer had a license, something that was never communicated to us in advance, which was frustrating.We had requested two separate duvets instead of one shared one, but what we received was poorly shaped and far below what you would expect from a four-star hotel.Breakfast was decent for a three-star hotel, but not up to four-star standards. There was no cheese selection, and the single automated coffee machine often had long lines and eventually broke down. We would have expected more variety and better accommodation for dietary needs.Overall, the staff did not come across as particularly friendly or accommodating. The issues we raised were met with a dismissive “sorry, it is what it is,” and no effort was made to compensate us for the inconvenience.We left quite dissatisfied and would not choose to stay here again.     What a smart, quirky hotel. Friendly staff, great location, well sized room. Parked the car next door. Really clean and felt luxury Didn't hear any noise from the bar over the road.     Hotel was lovely and clean and good location to station with a few bars and restaurants around.Room had no draws for storage only 4 hangers and clothes rail which when there are two of you not much space to unpackThey have a kettle in the room but no milk/tea bags or coffee sachets just a Nespresso machine with one pod per day between two of you which is not much use when one pod is only for one person and only paper cups no real cups so one of you can have a hot drink but the other gets nothingThey have a mini bar in the room offer water beer soft drinks - no spirits or wine on offer and no glasses in the room should you wish to have a drink at the end of the dayJust these little things would make it a more comfortable stay Guest Relations, Direttore generale at Tocq Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you for dedicating your time to review our Hotel.     All ok but poor customer service. No tea bags or milk in rooms with in room kettle. Returned from dinner at 1130 pm and asked for a camomile tea bag. Not possible. For Euro 200 a night poor show.     I booked the hotel upon the good reviews ive seen. I booked the junior double room for a stay of three nights in milan celebrating my birthday. Although i lm entitled for some perks as gold member on hotels.com, unfortunately no one highlighted any thing. I inquired if there is a possibility for upgrade and was told that the room ive booked is their highest category. Room was modern style, specious and clean. But i was shocked that ac is disabled and we have to open the window for cooling! I have clearly mentioned that i booked the hotel for the air conditioning and still the staff was insisting that i have to open the windows as if this is acceptable! Honestly worst hotel stay ever!
