    Fantastic location! Beautiful hotel with a very accommodating staff. We stayed there for 6 days and were very sad to leave. Will stay here again just for the view from the breakfast room not to mention the scrumptious food each morning.

    A well-located, no frills hotel

    The Hotel Covo dei Saraceni is a well-located, utilitarian hotel. The hotel is well placed for visiting Polignano a Mare, by being situated within walking distance of the old town. Parts of the hotel have a good view of the cliffs, but most rooms have no view but for a “lateral sea view” providing a glimpse of blue to the side. The common spaces do not take advantage of the views that could be offered by the location of the hotel. For example, there is a roof-top area with great views but it remains unused. The rooms are well sized with adequate, if austere, furnishings. The overall feel of the hotel is no-frills. While the hotel may have air conditioning, it is turned off when the outside temperatures are moderate. This would be fine if the rooms were well ventilated. But metal screens automatically close over the windows and patio doors, ensuring that the rooms are always stuffy and overwarm. During my stay in October, the lack of functioning air conditioning was a common complaint among the guests. The so-called “mini-bar” in the rooms consisted of a refrigerator with a bottle of water. And the bathrooms, while remodeled, suffer from plumbing which provided varying water pressures and temperatures. The lighting in the rooms was provided by wall sconces which were effective, but delivered harsh lighting. The room sorely needed a few table lamps which would have provided a more pleasant, restful experience. In short, the hotel was serviceable. But nothing about the hotel provided any sense of luxury, as would be expected in a resort location.

    Breathtaking Views and Walkable Location

    Covo Dei Saraceni was incredible — the sea views were breathtaking and the atmosphere so relaxing. The location is perfectly walkable to nearby restaurants and shops. Room was clean and we got one with a jacuzzi and that was so relaxing. The staff were extremely accommodating, and the on-site restaurant overlooking the water was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

    Great location for visiting Polignano a Mare

    The hotel is perfectly situated, overlooking the sea and the cove to the main beach. The room had a small balcony, great for having a glass of wine and people watching. We ate in the main restaurant a couple of times and we really enjoyed the food here, the ambience and also the attentiveness of the staff. Unfortunately breakfast wasn’t up to the same standard especially towards the end of the holiday as the choices seemed to diminish once the Italian holidays had ended. Puglia itself was a wonderful experience, it’s so easy to travel by public transport to get to numerous towns, all of which were worth visiting.
