    This place delivers on what it offers but it doesn’t offer much. We booked at short notice because we had to cancel our trip to the Far East due to the war in the Middle East. The hotel is within reasonable walking distance from the city centre with parking if you book in advance. The room was a decent size, clean, and nicely decorated. The air conditioning barely worked though and they still have that thing of putting the key card in a slot to get power so you can’t leave it on while you are out.When we are on a city break we like to be able to relax at the hotel but this place has no pool, no terrace, just the room.The restaurant in the evening seems to be just a few tables in the lobby. Breakfast is a decent selection and the staff are very good at replenishing but it’s served in a cavernous, soulless room which is very noisy.At about €150 a night it’s not cheap.So in summary, a practical solution for a few days in Lecce but no charm.

    Mercure was very good value for money.Initially, I thought it would be far from everything, but in fact, on the way to the hotel you cross streets where most of the good shops and restaurants are 😅.We chose a renovated room, which was a good size, clean, and comfortable. The bed was on the hard side, but still fine. What I didn’t like were the pillows and the duvet.Breakfast was rich and varied, and the made-to-order coffee was very good.

    We stayed in room 621 for 4 nights - not a great experience very tired and dated rooms. Staff were nice but clear owners have not maintained this hotel. Really avoid is 2 star at best but charges 4 star rates. Here are the lowlights of our stay : Dribbling shower that took ages to get warm and when it did was boiling hotShower fixing didn’t hold shower head so constantly fell out of its holder Dirty stained bathRoom only had one bedside lamp - when we asked for another one we were told it was not possible!Impossibly hot room a/c was not working front desk said there was a local law that doesn’t allow a/c from October onwards Poor sound insulation you could hear people’s conversations next door Very noisy street outside the bedrooms the karaoke from a nearby bar went on past midnightOld double glazing even with window shut you could hear people in the street and were on the top floor Bad quality buffet breakfast - watered down juice, weak coffee etc etc
