    This hotel is very good, I would like to go here again and again. The staff here treats me very well. The cocktails of this hotel are excellent.

    Very Disappointing Stay – Not 4-Star Standards

    We booked the Messapia Hotel & Resort through TUI, expecting a 4-star experience as advertised. Sadly, this hotel fell far below expectations, and we ended up leaving after one night.Our main issues:Accommodation: The apartment had only one air-conditioning unit for the entire space, leaving the bedroom unbearably hot. We had to sleep on the kitchen floor the first night.Maintenance & Cleanliness: The bathroom had mold, the locks on the doors were broken, and the apartment felt very tired and poorly maintained.Facilities: There was no Wi-Fi in the apartment, no drinking water provided, and the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable.Customer Service: We found it very difficult to communicate with staff as very few spoke English, and no one from the hotel checked on us after we reported issues.We booked another hotel at our own expense as we could not stay here any longer. From our experience, this hotel is nowhere near the 4-star standard we have come to expect from TUI holidays and would rate it closer to 2 stars at best.I would strongly advise checking recent reviews before booking.

    This hotel is listed as 4 star, but the accommodation is not. Damp patches in room, mould in the shower, frayed bath mats, old towels, and a metal rod of approx 3/4 inches was sticking out of the wall in the bathroom. No water in the room. The restaurant ran out of butter for a couple of days and there was no Breakfast tea for the last 10 days of our holiday. When asked the staff just shrugged. However, overall the food was excellent. English is hardly spoken, which could be challenging if you didn’t speak Italian. Luckily I did. You need a car there as taxis are few and far between, if any.

    THE REAL ITALIAN HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE

    This is the real Italian Holiday Experience. I booked through BA Holidays but upgraded room and meal plan directly with Messapia. Booking directly with the Hotel is better and they can arrange airport tranfers. Daniele is in charge of Reservations and he was not only efficient but had a great sense of humour !The staff over my two weeks were all friendly and made me feel at home even though I was virtually the only non - Italian. Most staff speak English. Reception at night is usually staffed by Paulo who is happy to make a coffee for anyone who goes out early and misses breakfast.I chose Half Board selecting the evening meal which for a small extra included wine, beer, soft drinks etc. Fish is the staple often served with pasta in a variety of delicious sauces. The food, wine, service, ambience etc were all great.I was there during the summer animation programme which was varied and widely joined in by all ages. Nezma made a particular effort for me as I don't speak Italian. She dances, sings and is generally the life of the party.The pool and terraces are kept immaculately clean.The chief lifeguard Marco was always happy to help move sun beds etc.The cleaning staff did a great job every day.The Spa is run by Carmelina who I recommend highly for a relaxing massage.I could write so much more about the Hotel, Staff, surrounding area, and Puglia in general BUT I recommneded you go and find out for yourself.You will not be disappointed.THANK YOU MESSAPIA FOR A GREAT HOLIDAY !

    The most unwelcoming hotel we have ever stayed in, the staff were completely uninterested in us, the hotel was empty and we were located above the noisy pool bar that played loud music to nobody.There were 2 functions during our week stay and the hotel then came alive to cater for these guests. The grounds were dirty, the room wasn't cleaned for the first 2 days and the balcony wasn't cleaned at all. Breakfast was basically left overs from the functions and got worse as the week progressed. The pool was roped off all week and after swimming once were told we should have worn swimming caps.Quite simply the hotel is more 2 star than 4 and despite the attractive reception and pool area the staff ruined the whole experience and we will never return.
