I never imagined I would feel and utter "Dolce Far Niente" in my life, but in this magical environment, time stands still, and every person, from the reception to the sommelier, genuinely cares about your happiness. I will return many times; the chef's unforgettable flavors, amazing wine, beautiful surroundings, and the autumn sun will bring me back.Special thanks to everyone for providing an unparalleled service experience.     Expensive, but luxurious

    Spent part of our honeymoon at this resort. It was gorgeous and the staff was very warm and kind. Food and wine were exceptional. Spa was OK. One note is that there are limited food options, which are very expensive, and it is 50 Euro to take a cab into town. If you're looking for dining variety and don't have your own transportation, this might not be for you. If you want a high quality, luxury experience, you'll have a wonderful time.     A fantastic stay and wonderful property! The food was excellent, and so was the service. The staff were kind, polite, and genuinely warm-hearted, which made our holiday truly special. We found peace, slept and ate well – and felt sad when leaving. We will definitely be back!     Don’t let the Location Fool You

    My husband and I stayed at this location in a suite. Upon arrival, after a day of travel, we entered the reception area to be greeted by Lorenzo, only there was no polite greeting when we asked about any upgrades to our reservation he responded, “when are you checking out?” We politely responded we would not be using our late checkout. So he asked Marco to show us 2 rooms but neither were an upgrade. Marco also showed us the beautiful property. I had talked and emailed with him briefly prior to our stay. He arranged a magnificent tour for us and was pleasant throughout our stay. That same arrival night we were going to use room service since we were so tired, but found wonderful outdoor chairs and a table to sit at instead. We asked reception if it was ok to drink wine outside since we bought a bottle in Siena. They responded yes and so we ordered food from the server in that area. They graciously accommodated our request for hamburgers, which are not on their evening menu. We had a wonderful evening chatting with other guests on each side of us. The next evening after a full day of sightseeing, we bought another bottle from the winery where our tasting took place that was part of the tour Marco arranged. We proceeded to the same area as the night before. We ordered food and a bottle of sparkling water from the server. She was the same server as the previous night. She asked us if that was all we were drinking? We told her no but we needed 2 wine glasses that she delivered to us. When we brought out the bottle of wine from the tasting, the bar manager and our server and another server stood in front of us and scolded us. They then informed us that they had let it go the night before but not that evening. We explained we had asked permission the prior night and were told no problem. If we had known the rule that no wine outside the property was allowed we would have followed it. They were very rude and treated us like children. We went back to our room and ordered room service. We were also chastised for ordering the hamburgers the night before because the table next to us ordered them as well. We had asked for missing water in our room, they delivered 2 bottles but we were told any extra we had to pay for them. I gave this property 2 stars for the delightful complimentary room snacks and 1/2 bottle of wine. All were delicious along with the hamburgers and room service food. Marco as I said earlier was pleasant throughout our stay and felt bad about the miscommunication the prior evening. In closing, my husband and I have had the good fortune to stay at several 5 star hotels. This clearly was not one of them with this poor level of service and rude treatment.
