    Appalling treatment

    rating19 Aug 2020

This hotel refused to cancel my booking so I drove all the way to Siena; at which point they refused to let me in because they said the reception was closed (at 8.15pm) which is not something they had even previously specified. I expect they had simply decided the rent the room to someone else and keep my money. Then then ignored my messages, so I am now having to go book somewhere else with no prospect of a refund. The very worst face of Italian tourist industry: should not be allowed on international booking websites at all.

    Great location

We found this place to be a little Gem in the heart of the city. Not really good if you are intending to park your rental car. But you can find car parks about that will collect it and return at your convenience, we paid 25 euros a night. The room was two bedrooms one with a bed and the other with a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable, there was a ceiling fan for comfort. The views from this apartment were spectacular right over the city and all its towers.Would reccomend for families and close friends to share.

    Dark, dingy and depressing

    rating11 May 2019

I would hate to rate a hotel "terrible" as there has to be something that makes it acceptable but I find it difficult in this case to find anything except the location. "200 yards to the main square" is pushing it somewhat whereas "a short distance away" would be more the truth. It is true that the building is very old but the best has not been made of it. Basically I can say that I have never stayed in such a dark, dingy and depressing room in my life and I am a seasoned traveller. I was asked by friends afterwards if it was clean but, to be honest, it was so dark it was difficult to tell but the bed linen was most definitely clean and crisp. The breakfast was distinctly average but not poor and a bonus was that it was on the premises as I didn't see places around that served breakfast as you do in other countries.I would find it difficult to recommend this hotel.

A hidden treasure close to Piazza del Campo

Lovely little hotel, set in one of the historic buildings. Spectacular views over to Il Duomo, etc. Furnishings are simple and pretty, facilities in excellent condition. They have wifi and a lift if you can‘t take the stairs. Breakfast included, delicious coffee and cornetti.

Loved Siena but katydid this very noisy hotel which badly needs updating

    rating29 May 2018

Great location within walking distance of all sights just a shame that this very quaint hotel was lacking in tlc the room was large bug very dingy with one light hanging from the beam, the safe was not attached to the wall just lying in a wardrobe. There was no air conditioning although there was a unit but nowhere to turn it on and no controls. The bathroom was quite dark and the shower very small, toilet seat was broken and there was no where to put any toiletries. Breakfast was on first floor and one day we had to wait on landing for a table to become available as there was only enough seats for 12 people. Breakfast was cakes, cheese, ham, tinned fruit, no fresh juice not very appealing. Loved Siena but loathed this hotel. If you come back after 8pm you have to use a code to get in and there are no staff available.
