    My husband & I enjoyed the most relaxing & simply wonderful 3 days at beautiful San Gregorio . This former opera house has a lovely fountain at the entrance, pristine grounds. & a gorgeous pool . The hotel's location is ideal . & with an easy 1/10 mile walk ,you will arrive at the historic sites, restaurants , & shops in Pienza . What we found to be exceptional about Hotel San Gregorio was the outstanding hospitality of the entire staff , & the tranquil atmosphere . Thank you to Nicola , the owner, & his Mother Anna Lita , who were so gracious & welcoming . & always available to answer any questions . Thank you to Alessandra & Silvia (Guest Relations ) )who were absolutely fabulous ! Silvia & Alessandra along with Nicola answered my emails promptly . They made sure our transportation needs were reserved well in advance .Also I always book directly with hotels . Hotel San Gregorio,s restaurant La Piazzetta was lovely . Thank you to Aldo & Stefano who were very attentive & welcoming . The Tuscan cuisine was delicious , but it was Aldo & Stefano who made our dining experience perfect ! The unrushed atmosphere is exactly what we enjoy when dining in Italy. Thank you to Jenny & Gabriele , the barista, ( Breakfast Room ). Each morning we looked forward to the buffet breakfast . There were plenty of fresh &delicious sweet & savory items to enjoy . It could get quite busy , but Jenny was always attentive . Gabriele made the most perfect decaf cappuccino & double espresso with steamed milk , & we so enjoyed lingering over a second cup . It was such a relaxing start to each day . Thank you to Elena & Nina ( Housekeeping,) Nina & Elena took the upmost care in making sure our suite was immaculate each day . We did not need to ask for anything . We appreciated finding our rooms refreshed each afternoon when we returned . Our suite was large . the decor classic , & we were very comfortable during our 3 day stay .     The San Gregorio Hotel is an excellent place to stay when visiting Pienza and the beautiful surrounding areas. The hotel is immaculate, very well kept with a highly professional and welcoming staff. The rooms are comfortable, fully equipped, great air conditioning and lovely linens. The hotel restaurant offers a good selection of typical Tuscan specialities and evening dining on the terrace is truly delightful. The breakfast is an exceptionally inviting experience, one of the best hotel breakfast buffets that I have ever had! The hotel even has a lovely swimming pool that is most welcome after a day of arduous touring. The San Gregorio is just steps away from the historic center of Pienza and it also has a covered garage for hotel guests. I highly recommend it and plan to stay there when I next visit the area.     Hotel with museum decoe

    A short walk accross the square to the old town(3 min) and you are there. The hotel itself looks a little strange from the outside, it is a converted opera house. The rooms are accessable by a lift . They are large ,comfortable and quiet. They are sparsely furished, but the rest of the hotel makes up for this with plenty of lovely old art .The grounds ,again ,i fel are sparse , buthe swimming pool is nice. The shoer is an old hand held shower, and noo shower curtain .     Good choice for an overnight in Pienza

    Very stately from the outside, beautiful public spaces inside. Our room was very big but a bit lacking in charm. Breakfast included, pretty typical but with the additional offering of cooked eggs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall excellent location for a night in Pienza, convenient and easy free parking at the hotel. 50 meters across a park to enter the old town.
