  A centrally located gem in Siena - our best stay in Italy

  Where do I even begin? This was hands down our favorite stay during our 3-week honeymoon in Italy! From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we'd discovered something truly special.Massimo and Ada genuinely care about creating the perfect Siena experience for their guests – you can tell they absolutely love this city and want everyone who stays with them to fall in love with it too. The location couldn't be better – literally a 30-second walk to the historic center. The rooms are beautifully spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully modernized while preserving the original fresco paintings on the walls, which creates such a unique atmosphere.What made our stay exceptional:The location is unbeatable – under 5 minutes to the Duomo, incredible restaurants, wine shops, cafes, and all the historical sitesBeautifully renovated rooms that feel both modern and authenticIn-room coffee setup Ada's fantastic restaurant recommendations and help with reservations throughout our stayBut honestly, Massimo himself is what made this place unforgettable. He's such a fascinating person – a true renaissance man who can chat about everything from biology (he's a scientist and professor) to Siena's rich history to music. Thank you so much, Massimo, for that wonderful impromptu morning tour before we left, and to both you and Ada for making our stay so memorable.

  More than just a room

  Two very tired travellers arrived late one night having travelled by train from Glasgow to Siena. Check in was due to end at 8 but our host stayed in to welcome us to her residenza. We were shown our room and given a quick lesson on where we should go to eat get the best night time view of the Duomo and what to do with our time in Siena. Our host was spot on one in every suggestion - the advice was perfection - even the moon came out from behind a cloud at exactly the moment we reached our vantage point.Staying at Le Aquile was the highlight of our 6 nights in Italy - our room was full of charm and had been decorated and furnished with style and dare I say love. We thought this was a great place to stay - close to the Duomo and the palazzo. We hope to return one day - thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and comfortable during our short stay - love Ron and Janey

  Very charming and close to landmarks. Massimo had a wonderful aura about him and was so nice and helpful. Our king bed was very comfortable. We loved staying here and Siena! We hope to come back one day.

  Lovely stay in incredible Siena

  Where to begin? We spent four nights at Le Aquile in Siena, and had a memorable stay there! This lovely little hotel is on a beautiful, quiet side street that's a one-minute walk from Il Campo. The building is historic (as all of them are in Siena!), with shutters that charmingly open out from the hotel's windows. Everything about the building appears to be authentic to its vintage.Our bedroom was as pictured -- large and airy, with frescoes on the ceiling and a contemporary bathroom that includes a fancy sink and walk-in shower. The bedroom was super-quiet, and the king-size bed featured a mattress that was incredibly comfortable. Among the best aspects of our stay there was the warm and hearty welcome extended to us by the owner, Massimo. He is one of the nicest, kindest, friendliest people we've ever met -- truly a fantastic host! He told us all about Siena -- where to go, where to eat, what to see, how to get places, etc. Incredibly helpful. We felt as if we were guests in his home. To add to the overall experience, the hotel's concierge and manager is also helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Ada gave us insights about Siena and answered our many questions, with great patience! She even walked us to the taxi stand as we were leaving Siena.Thank you, Massimo and Ada, for an unforgettable stay in Siena! We hope to see you there again one day!
