    Sadly, I wouldn’t go back

    rating26 Mar 2026

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a Viking cruise extension. Our room was large and quite nice. Loved the history of the place. The views from the resort patio were classic Tuscany. The staff were all very pleasant. The food however was a big disappointment. We ate breakfast and dinner there each day - as part of the tour. Breakfasts were ok - typical hotel breakfast buffet. Pastries seemed store bought. However dinners were really not good at all. Our “farewell dinner” was the worst and consisted of pork carpaccio (really just store bought deli sandwich style pork - not carpaccio at all), pasta which was pretty good, deli style sliced chicken breast (again store bought - do they have Gordon Foods in Italy?), and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Since the restaurant was not open when we had to leave for our flight home, they prepared a take away breakfast in a nag for us - a bottle of water, two hard crackers, a store bought little pastry, and an apple. Food-wise this place was like a cheap American holiday inn or something. In the rooms they had espresso style coffee machines which was nice , but you had to pay 1 euro for each capsule!Sadly, while the accommodations are nice, I wouldn’t go back, solely because of the food. Unfortunately it is in the countryside so there are no restaurant choices nearby, so unless you have a car to drive somewhere you are stuck with their restaurant.

    Tuscany Gem

    rating02 Oct 2025

Beautiful hotel with exceptional service and ambience. We stayed for 8 nights while we toured Tuscany, and it was perfect. Location is great, near the town of San Casciano which has nice shops and restaurants and is easy to find. The hotel has a gorgeous pool and offers an honor bar in the lobby with water, soft drinks, wine, prosecco, and cocktail ingredients. Gorgeous sunsets every night and the restaurant serves free full hot breakfast every day and dinner from 7:30-9:00 with a delicious ala carte menu and wine list. We stayed in a junior suite which was delightful and had a large soaking tub as well as shower. Plenty of room to store all our clothes and a mini fridge. I had booked a massage ahead of time and it was one of the best I've ever had with Ileria. We walked the grounds one day and discovered beautiful olive trees and walking paths. We definitely recommend this hotel.
