    DO NOT GO

    rating29 Mar 2026

I would like to start this review by stating that I came here on a school trip. It was supposed to be a safe place, and on top of that, was meant to be the place we ate at. However, after a few incidents, I believe that this would be completely impossible. Alas, our teachers refuse to move us and so I am writing this review. The Albatros is genuinely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I am very well travelled. This hotel served me raw chicken (photos attached below) and the bathroom was not cleaned. There were dirty towels and mould everywhere, and some showers didn’t even work. Numerous rooms found their rooms to be without light, and many found that they had stains on their sheets, one of which was blood. No matter what you do, stay at a different hotel. It is so atrociously bad that the best bit about it is the WiFi, and even that does not work.UPDATE 1: After settling in further, I believe that I forgot to mention how the hotel’s toilet facilities that aren’t in the rooms are in the basement. There is no light in there, and there is fluffy mould sprouting from the walls and ceiling. The mirror in the only working toilet is cracked, and the other toilet is not useable as the door only shuts half way. To access said toilet, there are mounds of broken or unkept furniture in the entry. The path is extremely unprofessional and frankly, not safe for anyone. On the topic of safety, in a room for four people, there were two single beds and one bunk. Since the people in our room tend to roll and the frame was already rickety, we requested bars on the bed and a ladder as there was no way to access the top bunk. The staff were incredibly rude, and complained or refused to give us these things. After a light spot of debating, we got what we wanted. However, the bars fell off immediately and everyone was tripping over the ladder due to the lack of floor space. We asked for help but they brushed us off with a single ‘goodnight’.This hotel is stressing everyone out, and so I cannot stress enough that you should not go! Every night is a different horror story.

    Just brilliant

I have to admit, some of the reviews almost put me off booking this hotel , but wow, what a mistake that would have been! We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it.Every morning, we woke up to a stunning view over the Bay of Naples. Breakfast was simple but more than enough to keep you going for a good part of the day. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and neatly made beds - thank you for that! The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The pool was a decent size , we only used it a few times in the evenings as we spent most of our time exploring the beautiful sights of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast , not forgetting the historic sites such as Pompeii and Herculaneum. The location is perfect — just a 10-minute walk to the train station and only a 5 mins train ride to Sorrento. I’m so glad we chose this quieter town and this hotel instead of the much busier Sorrento itself. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our stay. It was PERFETTO!Thank you to all the staff for making our visit so enjoyable and memorable.

Disgusting!!!!! Would’ve rather stayed in the train station

    rating06 Oct 2023

This was the most disgusting and dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The sheets were not changed. The bed cover was soiled. The floor had crumbs the plastic shower stall had soap scum all over it. There was hair on the toilet when I got there. The showerhead kept falling off the bar And the water didn’t go down. I had to fight to close the door of the shower because the floor was getting soaked. The towels were dirty, dingy, and crunchy. This is the absolute worst place ever stayed. I sat on the dresser because the bed was disgusting. They said they gave me a sea view room the only thing I did see was the pool . Save your money and go to another hotel in Sorrento. It was way too far to walk to the train, and the streets were deserted. I was emotionally getting depressed, staying at hotel. I literally had to book another hotel in Sorrento and take the loss because I booked for four days. Both the hotel and jet line vacations awful in trying to resolve any problem of this disgusting hotel.

    A very pleasant experience/ surprise

    rating02 Sept 2023

We looked at reviews after booking this hotel and were nervous we had made a massive mistake. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely Italian lady at the desk who also decided to change our rooms so we would be over looking the pool instead of the street just because they had the rooms available, the rooms were lovely and clean lots of large towels, extra pillows in the wardrobe so we had two each instead of just one, Wi-Fi in reception which also worked in our rooms, the pool was open and was lovely and refreshing, a little dangerous for children as there is about a foot drop from the pool edge to the water level, the pool floor was also slippery and a massive steep drop to the deep end which was very deep so just be sure to have floating aids, we didn’t get to have dinner but we did have breakfast which was lovely and there was lots of options to choose from, all the staff were lovely, kind and couldn’t do enough for us, the morning we left we had to be ready before breakfast started but they let us have coffee’s and the chef even brought us a plate of pastries whilst we waited for our transport, I probably wouldn’t stay here for a two week holiday but if your traveling through the area or staying for a few days like we were then it is perfect, i honestly do wish we could of stayed more than a few days. I don’t know if maybe they have just made huge improvements after negative reviews but we couldn’t believe it was the same hotel in the reviews, it was a lovely place :)

    Very disappointing experience

    rating20 Jul 2023

I am a student who went on a school trip to Italy and stayed in this hotel, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The rooms were kept tidy but very dated and there was leaks which caused mould which is a serious health concern. The hotel food was very disappointing after a 12 hour journey to the hotel we were hoping for some nice food and comfortable rooms and we got neither. The food looked like something you would a dog with salty lettuce and meat that we didn’t even know what it was, we didn’t get any choice in what we ate and the only drink was water which came in 3 jugs which looked unclean and very old. Looking at past review images the hotel has not changed in the past 10 years, which the staff were assured that the hotel had been updated by the travel company. On the first day we were hoping to use the pool but we were told that it was hired out by a private party, and we managed 40 mins on the second day, on the third day the we were told we couldn’t use the pool due to dangerous chemicals in the water but we returned from the day to see children using the pool. (Our teacher Robin G left a review which has images attached)
