    The hotel in the not so crowded castelammere di stabia is a really good hotel. The rooms were fantastic with an awesome view of Versuvius and the sea.Plenty of eating establishments around within a short walk but they all generally serve very similar dishes and got to find the one that caters to your taste and expectations.. not really hit the spot for us in ten days. We did dine in the hotel thanks to the manager and the food was superb.Breakfast was plentiful although found the cooked breakfast food was not hot which I did bring to their attention. The staff are all great and so accommodating. I would encourage you if you have the time to search out Pietro... Who took us on a day drive down the Amalfi coast which was a great day and Pietro is very informative and can communicate in a number of languages. The train station in easy walking distance to go up to Pompeii and Naples or down to Sorrento and indeed the ferry to Capri.The "but" in the heading is something that I can't leave out and that is that the hotel also hires out the 7th floor for private functions. Day 3 for us had a function with excessively loud duff duff music playing which went till midnight. On complaining I was informed that it was part of the hotels business plan to do this and we had 2 more functions in the remainder of our stay. These while audible were much quieter and a better taste in music.While management suggested to change rooms to a lower floor but that first function it wouldn't have mattered where we were.     All the staff were friendly and very helpful whenever we needed help. We did a day trip with Pedro down the Amalfi coast and couldn’t recommend it more. He was fantastic in all ways and we had a wonderful time. Only disappointing thing was the owners lease the top floor out for events at least twice a week and the music is very loud till midnight. A strange thing to do in a hotel. Neal- Australia

    Wonderful hotel with amazing staff!

    The time my family spent at this hotel was a delight. The rooms are nicely done in a nautical theme, and who doesn’t love falling asleep to the sound of the waves? Most amazing were the staff, who were incredibly gracious and helpful, from getting around town to tracking down a pair of crutches I left in a taxi. A special thanks to Pedro, who works at the hotel but also took us on a personal tour of the Amalfi coast. An old wise saying is that “A stranger is a friend you haven’t met.” If you stay at the Miramare, hopefully you will be lucky like us and get to know Pedro, your future friend from Castellammare di Stabia. He went out of his way and picked us up directly from Pompeii in his car and took us on a tour that blended the usual tourist hotspots with the places he loves - and Pedro REALLY loves the Amalfi region. He leads a tour like he seems to live his life: with warmth, curiosity, and passion. It really was one of the most special memories of an unforgettable family trip to Italy.     This hotel is a gem. The views of the Bay are stunning, the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. Vesuvius sits over your shoulder, a slightly foreboding presence. The staff are absolutely lovely: housekeeping are delightful, Francesco is so helpful on Reception and Christina provides a fantastic service in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner.Although things are largely open in Castellammare, outside it and in the more touristy areas many things were closed! Not one place open in Positano, Capri is very quiet (the bus journey is quite an experience (imagine playing sardines on the Tube)), Sorrento was half-open. It was perhaps a way to see the area as it was rather than full of tourists. However we took advantage of an afternoon and evening being guided by Pedro and it’s is well-worth doing this. From taking us to the church where he married, to a lovely traditional trattoria in Amalfi via the Cathedral it was a great trip! If you wish to see the famous Amalfi and Sorrento roads we cannot think of a better driver and guide.
