    Terrible not recommending

    rating19 Apr 2026

This hotel manages to fail at even the most basic expectations, starting with the food, which is consistently drowned in oil to the point of being almost inedible. Every dish arrives greasy, heavy, and lacking any sense of balance or care. Portions are wildly inconsistent—one meal leaves you starving, the next is an overwhelming, poorly prepared excess, as if no one in the kitchen has any standard to follow. The overall cleanliness is just as appalling. Bugs crawl freely across the floors, making it impossible to feel comfortable anywhere in the room. The curtains are visibly stained, adding to the sense of neglect and disregard for hygiene. Even the decor, which might have been charming at some point, now feels grimy and unsettling. The stained glass mirror and cups are not quaint or artistic—they’re simply dirty, poorly maintained, and unpleasant to use.To make matters worse, the view is nothing short of depressing. Instead of offering any kind of escape or enjoyment, it feels like an extension of the hotel’s overall neglect—bleak, uninspiring, and not worth a second glance. There is a pervasive sense that no effort has been made to maintain standards, whether in cleanliness, food quality, or guest experience. Everything feels inconsistent, careless, and poorly managed. Staying here is not just disappointing; it’s genuinely frustrating and uncomfortable.I would strongly advise against booking this hotel under any circumstances. There are far better options available, and choosing this place would almost certainly lead to regret.

    Never come here

    rating19 Apr 2026

Here’s a strongly worded one-star review you could use:---I had an extremely disappointing experience at Hotel Villa Igea and would not recommend it to anyone. The food was one of the worst parts of the stay. It was consistently oily, greasy, and honestly made me feel sick almost every time I ate. Meals were often left sitting out for long periods, and we were sometimes served what seemed like frozen or reheated food. Portions were inconsistent and often the wrong size, which just added to the frustration. On top of that, the hygiene was unacceptable—dirty salt containers, uncleaned glasses, and even hair found on plates.Cleanliness across the hotel was shocking. There were bugs around the property, mould on the lobby mirrors, and even mould growing on chairs. The curtains were stained, and the overall atmosphere felt neglected and unhygienic. The rooms weren’t much better. The beds were extremely uncomfortable—hard and thin like cardboard. The bathroom door didn’t lock properly, which is a basic expectation for privacy. The room key worked inconsistently, meaning you were often stuck trying multiple times just to get in. The TV and mini fridge didn’t work at all, and the views were poor, which made the stay even less enjoyable. You also couldn’t open the windows at night, making the room feel stuffy and uncomfortable. What made things worse was the staff. They seemed uninterested and unhelpful, often ignoring issues rather than resolving them. There were also serious concerns about privacy and trust—cleaners appeared to go through personal belongings, threw away items without permission, and even took coins.Overall, this hotel felt poorly managed, unhygienic, and uncomfortable. It’s nowhere near the standard it should be, and I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here.---

Our first stop on our tour of Italy

    rating11 Oct 2025

The hotel is a little way out of downtown. Sorrento takes a 10 minute bus ride from the Central train station. The hotel itself is clean efficiently run. The staff were extremely helpful. The breakfast was adequate with a lot of variety. They have a very nice cocktail bar with a big screen TV. our room overlooked the bay of Naples with stunning sunsets. there is a small grocery store right across from the street from the hotel and the buses to Sorrento. Stop right outside the hotel. I would not hesitate in returning to this hotel at a future date.

    Hotel Igea

    rating27 May 2025

Upon arrival we were told there was no shuttle bus which was the reason why we booked it. You are on a hill and it is approximately 40 minutes walk. You should not be giving false information. Buses come every 20 minutes and it is 1 euro 50 one way. On EAV bus you can buy tickets when you get on, but on Sita bus you have to buy from local shop or tabocaist shop before you get on. You can buy from supermarket around the corner. When we walked into our room it had not been cleaned, bottles everywhere and unmade bed etc. we asked for another room and were told no more were available. Breakfast is not great you can get by and the waiters keep watching you. Cakes were dry. Milk not fresh milk. The bedroom had very thin walls so you can hear EVERYTHING. Next doors toilet flush was so loud we heard it and also you could hear there shower running. You could hear everything they said. You put the card on the door for room to be cleaned and it doesn’t get cleaned, you must not put anything on door handle, even though it says you would like room cleaned? So annoying every day you thought room was cleaned and you walked in it wasn’t. No toiletries apart from Packets of shower gel so make sure you don’t forget anything. Hotel was a letdown. Swimming pool looked very dirty, no towels you have to take your own. people behind reception were very nice and it is not there fault. Sorrento was lovely had no issues in town.

    Wonderful Service & Staff

    rating22 Sept 2024

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 2 nights in September - there were 3 couples all from Canada. We had a great time, decent breakfast with a variety, it's a nice touch that they have a shuttle to take you into town that is complimentary, rooms were basic but clean, was impressed with the staff that we had the pleasure of meeting, from the front desk, the housekeeping staff along with the restaurant staff. The only thing I wasn't too impressed with was that for the pool you had to pay for the towels as well as the pool closed so early. It should of stayed open a bit longer that was a bit of a disappointment.
