Clearly advertised as features 2 bedrooms guests can relax on the terrace and stay connected with free wifi Location changed on the day different address to what was booked. 2 rooms booked only 1 provided, rollout couch, not made ready. $175 was quoted and confirmed $186:40 when we arrivedNo tv.No wifi. No terrace as stated in booking No shower connected to the wall just the hose with a head attached not appropriate Folding shower screen very difficult to seal against the top of the bath tub leading to pools of water while you wave the shower hose around trying to shower. All in all very disappointed

    Excellent!

    rating23 Oct 2024

We ended up here, at short notice, after an issue with the hotel we had originally booked. I was glad we had to change! The staff here are excellent. Every time we passed reception we were greeted - and always with a smile.Violet was very helpful when I rang to see if they had a vacancy. As she promised, we got a room at the back. It was big, with two French windows out onto a large balcony. It was very quiet all three nights we were there. The room had a fridge (not cold, though) and a safe. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, though I found the shower cubicle a bit tight.Breakfast was good. The hotel is close to Porta Susa mainline and metro stations. Exit D comes up onto the street almost at the hotel door. There are a number of bars and restaurants nearby as well as a small supermarket. We went a bit further afield, to Bakery, for delicious pizza. We would definitely return.

Excellent apart from the road noise

    rating10 Jun 2023

Perfectly situated across the road from Porta Susa mainline train station/metro/bus station this hotel is also an easy 15-20 minute flat walk to both Porta Nuova and Piazza Castella. Our room was spacious, light and airy with A/C and 2 french doors opening on to balconies; sadly we felt unable to to open these due to the constant road noise, day and night. The hotel has a small but peaceful garden at the back, free of noise; a room overlooking this would have been a much better experience. Breakfast was buffet style with everything we wanted and more, although there did not appear to be any restocking once items were finished; by 0900 the selection was limited. There are several good restaurants within a 10 minute walk, and a lovely gelateria right next door.

Comfortable, clean, convenient, and across the road from Porta Susa railway station

    rating23 May 2023

I was looking for an easy night’s rest, for my kids and myself, in between an evening arrival at Porta Susa and a next-morning departure from Porta Nuova; I naturally happened upon Hotel Residence Torino Centro. With literally less than 5 minutes’ walk from the train platform to the hotel’s front desk, it could hardly have been more convenient upon arrival, while the immediate vicinity of the metro station made it a breeze to get to our connecting train the next day.The staff at reception were friendly and efficient, both evening and morning; the room, although far from modern, was big, clean, quiet, and comfortable; and the price we paid was fair for the value we got. That was, really, all I was looking for. Were I to spend some days in Torino, I’d probably choose to stay elsewhere, to better feel the local vibe, rather than the transient nature of the surroundings of a major railway station. But for an in-transit rest or anything like it, we’ll surely be back again in the future.

    Pathetic shower

    rating10 Jan 2023

I do not typically stay in budget accommodation abroad, but this place seemed ok, and I decided to give it a go. The room is satisfactory, and it is pleasant to have doors and windows that can be opened to enable fresh air to enter.Unfortunately, there are three problems: the bed, the shower, and the wardrobe. The wardrobe is altogether superfluous and not fit for purpose. The luggage stand is directly in front of the wardrobe, so if you have a suitcase on the shelf, it blocks any meaningful access to the wardrobe's interior; this is idiotic. There are also only two hotel hangers which I struggled to access, so I gave up.The bed is hard as a rock, and if I weren't so exhausted from traipsing around the city, I would have found it hard to get any sleep. The worst feature of the room is the shower. The flow rate is slow and the jets are weak, but the small interior of the shower enclosure is awful. It was just big enough to stand in; it was impossible to move around, bend over, and sponge myself down as it was too small. My motions were also repeatedly deactivating the shower handle. I had no choice but to sponge myself outside the shower enclosure over the bidet and then re-enter the compartment to rinse off. It was utterly impracticable, and if I had known about this, there is no way I would have booked this accommodation. The provision of towels and shower gel is entirely insufficient. You get one towel, a tiny bottle of dual shower gel, and shampoo. Having to ask for additional towels and shower gel is not something I want to do, and an adequate amount should be provided de rigueur.Housekeeping is only performed at a specific and narrow time window of the afternoon. One day, the receptionist telephoned me, asking if I wanted housekeeping. As I was eating, I asked if they could do it in half an hour. Not possible; unbelievable!
