  Extremely disappointing experience - bug in the room.

  We ended up at this hotel due to a flight cancellation, since the airline took us there without giving us any options. The city is quiet and intriguing, though there isn't much to do, and it's quite far from Turin.While the staff was very friendly, the hotel itself was disappointing, especially considering that it claims to be a 4-star hotel.1. Room: We had to try three different rooms. The first had very old carpet, which made me start sneezing nonstop. We went downstairs and requested another room, preferably one without carpet or with a newer carpet, and they gave us a room without carpet. Unfortunately, this room was dirty and unkempt. We went back down and were assigned a third room, which was better.2. Bed: The bed was the worst we’ve ever encountered in a hotel. It was extremely uncomfortable, and the comforter had not been cleaned — it was dirty and had an unpleasant odor.3. Bug: Right before bedtime, we noticed a disgusting bug on the wall near the TV. We were so appalled by the entire experience that we decided to kill the bug ourselves and go to sleep, realizing that we were late and other rooms were unlikely to be any better. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, and while I’ve heard stories about bugs, this was the first time I actually saw one.4. Shower: The shower was terrible. The showerhead was dirty, old, and outdated, and the water flow was minimal. Additionally, the hotel seemed to lack a proper water heater, resulting in drastic temperature changes. The water shifts from a comfortable temperature to very hot or cold, similar to the issues found in older constructions where the water temperature fluctuates when someone flushes a toilet.5. Breakfast: The breakfast was even worse than what I've experienced in many lesser-rated hotels, especially for a place that claims to be 4-star. Laura Larosa, Altro at Hotel Rivarolo, responded to this review We are sorry you didn't like anything about the hotel and the city.The first time we had to change your room because you wanted one with a double bed while the airline had booked you a room with two separate beds, then you did not want to wait for the rooms to be ready (you arrived in the morning and check-in usually starts at 2 pm).We are in the countryside and it is normal that if you open the windows some insects can come in.I think that your negative comments are due to the poor service you suffered from the cancellation of the flight, also because out of 30 people you were the only ones not satisfied with anything.

  Worst experience I have ever had

  I was the victim of theft. It occurred in my room, even though I had posted a "Do not disturb" sign on my door. I had exactly 1500 euro stolen along with other items. Management has yet to resolve this matter and I have been given the run around. I was informed by staff the I was not the only guest that was violated. I had to end vacation early, pay extra fees for flight, etc. There were hotel fees for the remainder of my planned stay in Italy that could not be cancelled so I had to pay for more than a weeks stay that I did not get to enjoy. I had a very sad 12 hour flight home. I would not recommend staying at this establishment. PiemonteBianca, Direttore at Hotel Rivarolo, responded to this review Let's start by saying that in 12 years since we opened, we HAVE NEVER HAD a case of theft in the rooms or in the common areas, never! We would like to point out that all the rooms have a safe with a private code. We find it very strange that you didn’t use it despite the cash you said you had, and also, our staff didn’t have access to your room as you requested no daily cleanings during your stay.Your reported the "alleged" theft only 5 days after your departure; strange that you didn’t notice before your loss or you didn’t file a complaint; you just called our hotel.You are accusing our staff that is HIGHLY QUALIFIED AND TRUSTED, who have been working at the facility since the opening. This is SO unpleasant.We ask you to stop accusing us unfairly, otherwise we will be forced to take action with the competent authorities.The Management

  Really nice overnight stay

  Booked this hotel for an overnight stay on a long road trip.The hotel was chosen based on online reviews and certainly lived up to previous comments.Modern and comfortable hotel strategically located near Turin.   PERFECT PLACE TO STOP BY, RELAX AND EAT YOUR BREAKFAST WITH A GREAT VIEW OF PreALPS MOUNTAINS.

  I spent a week in this pretty, comfortable, recently renovated small hotel. It's very clean and comfortable. Directly over a small shopping center and 5 minutes walking from Rivarolo town center.The staff is friendly and breakfast very good.

  Exceptional staff - lovely hotel

  It was a very last minute booking, we literally rang the hotel at 2am and were there within 15 mins. They had perfectly prepared our suite (for us & our two children) and the heating was on in the room to welcome us.The children were tired in the morning & we were kindly allowed to take hot chocolate & croissants to the room for them.Very kind and welcoming staff - a credit to the hotel. Thank you to all!
