    A great hotel in a great location in Venice - close to the train station and walking distance to major attractions. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat with a lot to choose from. There is also a beautiful garden area. I look forward to staying there again in the future.

    We liked our stay here, mainly because of the location and the helpful staff. We came from the cruise port and left on the train, so this hotel was ideally located for that. It is also tucked away so it is nice and quiet. The rooms are old and small, so few surfaces on which to place anything, including none in the bathroom. But overall, it was comfortable enough. The staff were truly helpful and kind and treated us like royalty. That is this hotel's best feature. The breakfast is also quite a spread, with a huge selection of food.

    The location was perfect for us , close to the train station and the Grand canal. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Our room was unique, comfortable and clean. The included breakfast buffet was the best we had in Italy during our 12 nights there.

    Pros: Easy Access and QuietThe location is unbeatable if you’re traveling by train. Hotel Abbazia is just a few minutes from the station with no bridges to cross, making luggage transport incredibly easy. The street is also surprisingly quiet.The Breakfast & Service Issues:We were satisfied with the food itself—the spread is a bit unusual (pastries and chicken wings!), but it was okay. However, the workers in the breakfast room were quite rude. When we tried to choose a seat, we were told "no" and then demanded our room number immediately after sitting. We ended up shoved into a corner so tight we could barely move without bumping into the people next to us. It was very cramped and uncomfortable.Cons: The Mosquitoes (The Biggest Issue)Since we visited in April, the AC was not yet running and the hotel provided no fans. We had to keep the windows open because the room was so hot, but there are no screens. Our family was eaten alive—my kids woke up with bites all over their faces and eyes. If you stay here when it's warm but the AC is off, bring your own repellent or a travel fan.
