    Excellent Hotel

    rating29 Apr 2026

This hotel is in an excellent location being close to Rialto & Accademia bridges and St. Marks square but stay longer and get away from the crowds by venturing off the beaten path. This hotel is easy to get to from the Rialto stop (after getting off the boat turn right and walk with water to your right- SEE PHOTO / MAP) Also between the Rialto bridge and hotel there are no bridges and steps so moving luggage is good and with luggage the walk was less than 10 minures. The hotel is clean, comfortable with a professional front desk (good English is spoken) cleaning and breakfast staff. As other reviews have stated there is no lift but they will help with luggage, but Venice and its bridges have plenty of steps, so we did not worry.Breakfast consists of fresh pastries, boiled eggs, cheeses, meats, fruit, yogurt, and cereals. The coffee is OK but a bit on the weak side. You can order espresso or cappuccino which are excellent. Hot milk is also available. People need to learn to sit at their assigned table and not play musical tables. TIPS: 3 prong Italy electrical outlets are common with our bathroom having the modern round grounded plug-in. If in the suite or superior rooms with canal views close the wooden shutters as noisy taxis and delivery boats use the canal in the early morning hours. Press the blue led on the bathroom mirror as it turns on the mirror nightlight. The hotel does not offer laundry but Lavanderia Gabriella on Rio Tera de le Colonne does. A good Co-op is just around the corner you would have noticed coming from the Rialto stop. A bank ATM is in the Campo Manin. We were in the suite or room 9 with a corner and single balcony right beside the breakfast room and found it quiet. Breakfast doors open promptly at 8 a.m. each day. Our room was clean (and cleaned thoroughly each day) functional, with an upgraded bathroom with rainfall shower. This room had plenty of space. Previous to our stay I read reviews as some rooms have limited space and rooms vary of which higher priced rooms appear to have more space. The bathroom door opening into the bathroom (room 9) is awkward and warrants a pocket door or for the door to swing out. We would stay here again if we were back in Venice. GRAZIE TO ALL THE STAFF

    Older hotel but great receptionist!

    rating14 Dec 2025

We had 2 nights here and found everything to be satisfactory. The hotel rooms are small and old fashioned but clean and adequate for a short stay. The location and surrounds were good. About 10 minutes walk from Rialto where we alighted from the water bus. Also near St Marks Sq. The best part about this hotel was the receptionist Alessandro who was very friendly and helpful. He carried our suitcases up tour room for us on the first floor - which was lovely of him and he was really knowledgable about the area. We really enjoyed talking with him and found him very pleasant.

    rating09 Nov 2025

Our third stay in this centralised hotel.Clean room and bathroom.Close to Rialto Bridge , good restaurants and bars around .Very good breakfast.I checked my earlier comments in 2019 , there was my complaint about breakfast coffee , still same bad quality of coffee at breakfast.

    Disappointing

    rating23 Sept 2025

It's an old building and I appreciate that fact, however items such as skirting boards stuck together with sticky tape, and other issues with the room equates to very tired rooms and much needed refurb of the interior. We booked a double bed suite and had two single mattresses pushed together which resulted in a 50mm+ gap in the middle of the bed. It was horrendous. The included breakfast was average at best with nothing hot available.Be aware there is no lift or porter service to get your cases up the multiple flights of stairs. So if you have mobility issues, or struggle carry heavy cases any distance, be warned.Do your homework before spending your money at this hotel.

A good stay, with an excellent location

    rating04 May 2025

The hotel is very well situated - only a couple of minutes walk from Rialto, which is very handy if you're arriving from/leaving for the airport. The reception staff were so friendly and it's manned 24/7, as you leave your key with them when you go out. The hotel has a lot of character; our room had high ceilings with beams. It did feel a little small for us - it was hard to put a second suitcase somewhere. The bathroom was fine - shower cubicle was a bit tight. Breakfast was great - a self service buffet in a wide open room. The hotel doesn't have a lift so anyone with a heavy suitcase would have to carry it.
