    Extremely rude behavior by their check in lady. I have never seen anyone behave so horribly. Hotel Staff name - Alessia.Feel very sorry for overall hotel management but they should seriously consider not putting that lady on front desk to deal with customers.I requested her to write her name so that I can discuss with her manager, see what she wrote.

    My cousin and I had the pleasure of staying for 10 nights. I very highly recommend this hotel. The staff were friendly, kind and each one of them went over and above. Upon our arrival, we received a very warm and genuine welcome and a huge smile. Each of the employees were professional, helpful and kind. It was quite obvious they enjoy their job which you don't see very often anymore. The breakfast bar was exceptional. I was expecting a continental breakfast but was pleasantly surprised with a selection of hot food and many different breakfast options. (My favorite were the mini pancakes with "Canadian" Maple Syrup). The front desk were very helpful and explained how to get to various places.Everything right down to the vintage decor was perfect. The cleanliness was exceptional. Needless to say staying at the Garden Hotel Michelangelo was the perfect choice for my visit to Venice. The hotel is family owned and I think this makes a huge different. They truly care about their guests and it was quite evident.. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

    The hotel was very well kept and clean and the staff were great, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a good basic standard breakfast had all the usual and was plentiful. Location is a good alternative if you don't want to pay the expensive costs of being very central. It was easy to get to mainland Venice by tram outside the hotel or train within 30 mins and was part of the fun. I recommend you getting the the train to Venice to experience the impact of the beautiful sight of the surroundings when you walk out of the station. I had a single person's room which was a real bonus as in the Uk you don't get this and would have to pay for a double if you was on your own. It was cozy and had a good size bathroom being as it was a single occupancy.

    Very dated and stale!

    We stayed here for a 2 night stay (we lasted one night) arrived to polite staff. Walked into our room when the smell of stale smoke hit us immediately. Room was very dated and we had to open the windows wide. One friend went down and asked to change rooms. Whilst waiting for someone to come and move us, house keeping came in and sprayed the room all over with deodoriser, choking us all. So we waited in the musky hall. New room had stale damp smell, same terrible dated and worn decor. Old blood on the bed sheets. Opened window immediately and left it wide open all day whilst out. We didn't want to walk about the room without shoes on and neither of us could face using the shower. In the morning we woke to the smell of fresh cigarette smoke assumed it was coming from outside but it was coming from the hallway and next door rooms. We felt dirty and like we couldn’t put anything down on the sides. We checked out and left after one night which was one too many….this hotel is a long way off a 4 start and IMO doesn’t even make a 3 star standard!

    Dirty rooms, stank of cigarettes, dirty bed sheets, incredibly dated. More like a 2 star definitely NOT 4 star. Left after 1 night as bathroom too dirty to use.
