A quiet breath during a week of Venice Biennale madness.

    rating23 May 2026

This was an excellent choice given we were in the middle of Venice Biennale opening week when most hotels double their prices. Basically you can't "judge" value in the same way you'd judge it during a normal Venice week - if ths tourist city ever has a normal week.So getting that out of the way, I'd say the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay pleasant. They greeted us every time we went through the lobby, did every small thing we asked with a smile. Breakfast was the usual buffet with a few extra pastries but again the staff made you feel like family.Could I complain? sure, I'd love a 5 star plush room with outlets every 5 feet, but this is OLD VENICE, on a narrow street at peak week. So that said, it's as close as best value for money i've had an art fair. Best remodel of a very old canal house, and the room was large - by Venetian standards. Robes, slippers, amenities, all excellent. And a well lit bathroom. It was a great choice, location and price for the week. Sorry, all my photos are tourist pix, but there are plenty of the hotel elsewhere. ONE NOTE: they have two buildings, the reception is in the 'newer' building, which I am "told" has a few of the larger rooms. Both are next to each other, separated by a small alley.

    Superb location

Superb location, very helpful staff. The room was clean and adequate, but quite small. The breakfast was very good in a lovely room.

Perfect hotel in a perfect spot!

    rating20 Mar 2026

We absolutely loved this hotel! It was perfectly located, the room was spacious, and the daily breakfast was delicious. If you ask for a room with a canal view, you can open the window and shutters and the gondolas pass just below your window... sometimes singing. They make dinner reservations for you, provide maps and recommendations, and arrange water taxis to the train station. The staff were all amazing!

Amazing hotel with even better staff

    rating29 Nov 2024

Amazing hotel and the best hotel staff I've ever encountered. Alessandro on reception is a total gentleman and all of the others were amazing too. The pictures don't do the hotel justice and the location is perfect for getting around the main areas you need to see in Venice.Couldn't recommend highly enough.

    Simply wonderful

    rating11 Aug 2024

The hotel, the location, the lovely rooms, the beautiful common/breakfast area were all divine! The room was large with Venetian decor (but nothing too garish) and the bathroom was pretty large--shower was a large walk-in marble shower with excellent water pressure. The rooms are all off of a common area that is so relaxing to sit in. Breakfast is served in this sumptupusly decorated common area and it was a real treat every morning just to sit and eat breakfast in this room.Breakfast staff were kind and helpful.Location is great--close to St Mark's but just a few steps beyond the stream of crowds going to and fro. There is a bit of noise from the canal side, but we didn't find it too loud and the noise disappeared after dinner.
