Location

The hotel is superbly located, offering an enchanting view over the lagoon facing the island of San Giorgio. It is a few steps from Piazza San Marco, and close to the Art and Architectural Biennale. There are links to the public transport network just outside the property, which offers connections to the bus and train stations within 20 minutes. There are also plenty of shops and bars nearby. Marco Polo Airport is about 4 km away and Treviso S. Angelo Airport is some 35 km from the establishment.

    Just checked in Metropole Venice- although we were excited to visit Venice and this hotel unfortunately I believe that the outcome was very poor and really disappointing. Theoretically we booked the best standard - not suite - room in the hotel with lagoon view. The advertisement in the site of the hotel was showing a room with magnificent and unhindered view in the lagoon and monuments of the city. What was the reality? In our view The opposite : : a room in the first floor watching the major attraction; a ticket facility of the pier with no privacy while we are standing over the pedestrian walk where. Some people can watch you in the room. Not a comfortable and acceptable situation for a 5 star hotel according to the hotel’s website. Thus before booking this expensive room pls ask the floor where it stands. I also have to note that when I asked a relocation they told me that there is no availability in this category but they offered me a suite for 400 or 350 euros per night additionally. Then I received another offer 200 euros supplement for a suite with the same bad view. !! ! It seems that in my case when you do not get a hotel room based on the advertisement off the site the other option you have is to pay more money. I will definitely check which authority reviews such websites and the accuracy of the advertisements. I would no recommend this hotel for this category.

    Beautiful hotel in an historic building. Staff very helpful. My fifth trip to Venice- wish I had discovered the Metropole sooner! Great location to walk or catch the ferries. Their own dock for water taxi service. Extensive buffet breakfast. And the bathrooms have heated floors- what luxury!

    We stayed here for our anniversary. It is cluttered, dark, and smells like your grandmother’s house with all of the old pieces. The pillows are flat, there is zero storage, and the head waiter was condescending and pretentious. Our room faced the Grand Canal and we were awoken all night and early in the morning to both the partiers or early morning deliveries.

    We loved this hotel. It's right on the Grand Canal and just a few minutes walk from St. Mark's square. We booked a room with a view and loved it. It stated it came with a queen size bed, but it was a king size. The bed was so comfortable. We had a corner room and 3 large windows. We loved that they all opened and could enjoy the breeze and the sounds and sites from the promenade below. Our favorites things about this hotel were the location, views and service.

    Just had another fabulous stay at this wonderful hotel, this time i was visiting Venice with my Daughter who was staying in the hotel for her 1st time . Like myself she is no stranger to Venice its her favourite city .She totally agreed with everything I'd told her about the hotel , the cleanliness, proximity to all major sights fabulous breakfast and beautiful room but most of all how welcome we were made to feel by all the wonderful people who work there they really do make you feel special, im already planning to return again in November with my husband and I'm sure my Daughter will be back again she enjoyed her stay so much!
