    Impressive

    rating09 Jun 2026

Very nice hotel. We had a grand canal view room. The front desk is 5 star all day. The room needs repair to mirror, bathroom. Breakfast is very impressive. This place is in center of everything. Recommend to use public water bus for all travel including islands. Use Google maps for help. Mauro Casalis, Altro at Hotel Rialto, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for staying with us. We're so glad to hear you appreciated the work of our staff — that means a great deal to us, as it's the highest compliment we could receive. We're also delighted you enjoyed our location right by the iconic Rialto Bridge, as well as our Venetian breakfast. Under new ownership, we've begun an ambitious renovation project for the entire property, and we hope that on your next visit, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the transformation.

    A good time in Venice

    rating04 Jun 2026

We enjoyed our time in Venice. The Rialto hotel is perfect for being near all the main attractions. It is within walking distance of St Marks Square and the Rialto bridge is steps away. There are gondolas right outside the hotel (we took the classical gondola ride - well worth it), plus public transport, lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel does a breakfast buffet. I would recommend putting some parasols on the roof terrace so that guests can enjoy spending some time there. The rooms were kept clean, the staff were welcoming and helpful. We did not book a canal view, so the view from our room was basically concrete walls. However this was not a problem for us as we were out most of the time and on one day there was singing so that was nice to hear and one advantage of a non canal view was that we were able to get sleep at night . The hotel offered a free trip to Murano island and Burano which we appreciated. We enjoyed watching the glass being made and the exhibition of the Murano glass items was spectacular. Mauro Casalis, Altro at Hotel Rialto, responded to this review Dear Rose,Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words — they truly mean a great deal to us.We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our Venetian breakfast and that our team made a positive impression. Delivering warm, attentive service is something we take great pride in, and it's always rewarding to know it makes a difference. Our position just steps from the Rialto Bridge is indeed one of Venice's most iconic spots, and we're glad it added something special to your stay.We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back, and we hope Venice — and our little corner of it — calls you back soon.

Very good and tiny bit bad

    rating19 May 2026

We had a great experience from room 401 on second floor and to right side of flags looking at the hotel from outside. Some steps to the room but near the lift. Two windows looking straight onto Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. So much interesting activity around the bridge. Sheer curtains don't block light. Noisy until at least midnight and sometimes much longer if drunk people are about but not of concern to us.Staff were helpful. Breakfast good. Clean. Expensive of course.Water taxi 80€ cash from train to hotel booked by a tour guide. We didn't want to do public transport with our bags as we are 69. On way out, the hotel booked water taxi for us. We were charged 90€ cash. With the kicker being that a porter at the train station met us with a trolley..nice touch...but then, after 50m walk to the station asked for 20€. They haven't fixed all of the graft yet! Mauro Casalis, Altro at Hotel Rialto, responded to this review Dear Douglas,Thank you for your visit — we're delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay. We're especially pleased that you appreciated the dedication of our staff. Our location beside the famous Rialto Bridge is indeed one of the highlights we're most proud of.Regarding your experience with the water taxi, we'd like to provide some clarification. The return journey from the hotel to the train station was €10 more than the outward trip due to the early departure time of 6:10 AM. The City of Venice's officially approved tariffs include a €10 surcharge for services provided between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM, which accounts for the price difference. As for the individual who approached you at the station, he is one of the many independent porters who regularly assist arriving and departing travellers in the area. These individuals have no affiliation with our hotel or any hotel, and we have no means of anticipating or preventing such encounters. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused, though any concerns regarding this matter would need to be directed elsewhere. It was truly a pleasure having you as our guest, and should you ever wish to return to Venice, we would be more than happy to welcome you back.

    Very Disappointing

    rating17 May 2026

Hotel Rialto is overpriced and saved only by its location at the Rialto Bridge. My husband and I just completed a 6 week trip through Europe and this hotel was the worst! I had requested a room w/a canal view. What did we get? A small room whose window opened onto a concrete wall. Upon requesting a change, the desk agents were nasty and dismissive. On the second morning of our stay the reservation agent indicated the availabilty for two other rooms: we looked at the first which was far from the elevator and up several flights of stairs. We did not look at the second option b/c we were late for a tour. I told the reservation agent that in making the reservation in October 2025 I had specifically requested a room w/a canal view and that once there cared little about that, just wanted a room w/some kind of view. Pigeons kept landing on the windowsill, including at 4 AM when we thought it would fly into the room. Pigeons are a problem in Venice but it was creepy to wake up at 4 AM and have one just about in the room. The breakfast was also mediocre at best. This hotel may offer nicer rooms and a fairer price but we found it overpriced and unpleasant. Find somewhere else to stay in Venice. Mauro Casalis, Altro at Hotel Rialto, responded to this review Dear 499,Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.Regarding the room view, we understand how important this can be to your overall experience. During peak occupancy periods, we are unfortunately unable to guarantee canal views for reservations that do not specifically include one. We would warmly encourage you to book a room with a view of the Rialto Bridge or the Grand Canal directly for your next stay, to ensure this is confirmed from the outset. We also apologize for the inconvenience caused by the room change the following day. While we made every effort to offer you a suitable alternative, we recognize that this fell short of your hopes. As a historic property dating back over five centuries, our building carries certain architectural characteristics that we believe add to its unique character, though we understand these may occasionally present limitations. As for the pigeons — we share your feelings! They are an inescapable part of Venice's charm, and while we wish we could do more, this is unfortunately beyond our control. We truly hope you will give us another opportunity to welcome you, and we are confident we can offer you an experience worthy of your trust.
