    Great location - about 10 minute walk from Kyoto Station. Very clean and pleasant, helpful staff. More of a business type hotel but perfectly met my needs. Would choose again.

    Disappointing Stay at Almont Hotel Kyoto

    I stayed at Almont Hotel Kyoto for two nights with a friend, and unfortunately, it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Upon arrival, after walking from the train station in 37°C heat, I asked the staff if they could refill my water bottle with cold water. Shockingly, they refused. The hotel does not provide a water cooler or any cold water facilities for guests, which is unacceptable given the climate.The rooms are extremely cramped—barely enough space to move around—and the lift is so tight it induces a sense of claustrophobia like nothing I’ve experienced before. What made matters worse was the attitude of the staff. They were consistently rude, particularly towards English-speaking travellers, which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.Overall, it was a terrible experience. Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel. There are far better options in Kyoto that offer basic hospitality and respect to their guests.

    Convenient location for JR station

    Very conveniently located from JR station 7mins walk), with very helpful staff. The rooms were larger than expected. Hotel is slightly dated in furnishings. We enjoyed our stay as a family of 4Breakfast was nice and had many Japanese options. Hotel helped us transport our luggage to the airport so we were hands free to travel on the train.

    Very nice hotel. Short walk to Kyoto Station. Reasonable price. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Rooms are business hotel size, but with top class finishings. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of local dishes and some western.

    We stayed at this hotel as part of our tour of Japan. We found the hotel clean and staff are very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast is Japanese style and we found it nice and varied. The hotel is located close to Kyoto Station. What made the hotel is the staff who are very polite and attentive.
