    Good location, no amenities in the room but you can pick up from the ground floor. Breakfast space is small, coffee machines are slow, otherwise ok place to stay - very close to Kyoto station.     Hotel was nice however we were given a smoking room that stank even though we had booked non-smoking. And unfortunately there are no other rooms available.     The hotel room was reasonable for Western standards with all the amenities. There was no remote control for the AC.     Close to everything but tucked away in a quiet neighbor.

    This hotel was huge. We were transferring from another hotel in Tokyo and it was so tiny. This place came with a refrigerator, and down the hall an ice machine with a microwave. The location was so close to the metro and bus station but it tucked in a nice quiet neighborhood. There is a shopping center nearby as well. The bed was comfortable and so was the pillow. The staff were so nice. My husband left his cellphone at the lobby counter top and didn't realize it until we got to Osaka. When I had the front desk call this hotel it took some time and some negotiation to get the staff at Daiwa Roynet in Kyoto to overnight his cell phone to new hotel. We had a packed agenda in Osaka and the next day we were going to the Osaka Expo. While we were there at this hotel we sent another package to our hotel in Osaka instead of dragging up and down the train station. They were so helpful in helping me fill out the form, since I filled out wrong the first time. Make sure you have cash.     Good location. Quiet street and easy to find. If you take Shinkansen to Kyoto, take East gate exit, only need less than 5 minutes to walk to hotel. Easy to check in and staffs are very helpful. We arrived early so we left our luggage at the reception then came back to check in at 2pm. Self service amenities are at the lobby such as drip coffee, tea bag, toothbrush set and brush etc. just take whatever you need. Breakfast is served as a buffet style with Japanese & Western food. Choices are good considering the price ¥1400 plus tax. The staffs are great too. We booked two non-smoking twin rooms including breakfast as a package through their official website. Easy to book and reservation confirmed immediately. Payment can be made on site or pay before checking in.
