  Everything is great except the entrance to the executive lounge on the ninth floor

  I was very pleased with everything about the hotel, which is well appointed, and has a good location, except for one issue. The entrance to the executive lounge on the ninth floor is only 6 feet tall and I banged my head pretty good. I can’t imagine I’m the first one that has done this. Nor do I believe I’m the only person taller than 6 feet visiting Kyoto. This is a poorly planned detail and one that could really hurt somebody. It will need to be corrected sooner or later.

  Worst check in experience and room given for a Diamond member

  Worst experience as a Diamond Member of Hilton.Requested for early check-in and preferred room upgrades as part of the perks instead check-in beyond 3pm and I have to request for the key while inside the lounge.The lounge was in good condition but certainly not the quality of food and no one to clean up.When I finally checked in. I got one of the worst room with construction taking place beside my room. See the pictures attached.

  Excellent stay in Kyoto

  Excellent stay in Kyoto. Very convenient location near the station. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The selections in the Executive Lounge and breakfast are very good. Most of all Mr. Murat G. made our stay unforgettable. He helped us on every details of our Kyoto sightseeing. He was very kind. We would like to thank him and all the staff of the hotel. Hope to return very soon. Highly recommended if you plan to stay in Kyoto or nearby regions.

  Reliable, comfortable, and convenient for rail travel

  As the name suggests, this hotel is right by Kyoto Station — and for anyone travelling around Japan by rail, that's a great advantage. It's a few minutes walk to the station, which is also handy for trips around.It's worth noting that the station area isn't the most atmospheric part of Kyoto — you won't be stepping out onto cobbled geisha streets. But that also means it's quieter and less crowded than the tourist hotspots. Gion is around a 15-minute taxi ride away, and taxis in Kyoto are reasonably priced, so it's not a hardship. We didn't try the bus, but that option exists too.Staff were friendly and efficient at check-in, and the lobby bar was a pleasant touch — it runs a happy hour, which we made use of, and it's a lovely spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are compact with limited storage space, but have everything you'd expect and are comfortable enough.Breakfast had a solid selection of options, though it does get busy. Gold and diamond Hilton members have access to a separate, more relaxed dining area, which made the morning considerably more enjoyable.Straightforward, well-run, and does exactly what it needs to.   My second stay. I was hesitant to keep my booking because the hotel was fully booked and I had other options.I was very happy there again, however. The "twin deluxe" room was large enough (I was worried about that) and it is simply a good hotel. One suggestion: Lounge food could be of more variety.
