    Absolutely worth the stay! The staff/family that runs this hotel are the nicest people in Kyoto. They were extremely accommodating, prepared, and spoke fluent English. The room was comfortable, quiet, and a great first experience for traditional living. We also had breakfast, which featured a large arrangement for traditional foods and fruits. The location could not be any better at this price point and is incredible value.

    This Ryokan-style inn is comes from a family that's been doing this for 15 generations! Traditional Japanese rooms with straw mats and futon-style bedding was provided. The bath and showers were luxurious. They're was also a public bath, which was quite elegant.

    Staying at this Ryokan was a very special experience for me. I have stayed at a few others in the past but this one was my favorite. Part of the reason I enjoyed my stay so much here was because the hosts were so kind and friendly. The room was also well kept and the location was great! I would recommend this place to anyone :)

    Stayed 3 nights in this ryokan, located right down the street from the Nishiki Market and walking distance to Gion. Great location and entrance is tucked away. The owners are so sweet and helpful. They helped make a dinner reservation for us before arriving in Japan. Easy to get an uber to and from the train station.The traditional rooms were spacious, and there were extra bed pads for a more comfortable sleep. The shower/bath room was roomy as well. There was a traditional floor table as well as a regular table with chairs and a mini fridge and microwave. We tried the traditional breakfast one morning, which had a lot of different dishes.

    Have you ever wanted to write a thank you note to a hotel? This is a first for me. We were treated like valued family, the owner even did our laundry for us. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Service was excellent. A little far from the train station but proximity to Nishiki market was awesome. Almost inside the market.
