    The close location to the train station, buses and taxis is perfect. The hotel is down a side street so has the benefit of being both quiet and close to transport hubs. The hotel staff are very welcoming and polite. I would particularly like to thank them for being so kind when my daughter was feeling unwell. We had already checked out when she started to feel bad. We returned to the hotel and they let her rest there for a few hours until she felt better.     Prime location with few steps access to Kyoto Station where you can find a few tons of options for dining and shopping. The room was clean and breakfast buffet was good. Very friendly staff. 2 laundromats at the property available to use for guests.     The 3 stars are for the room and girl on the information desk, very helpful. What disappointed so much was we arrieded at the hotel at about 1.30pm and was told if we wanted our room now we would hae toe to pay 6000yen, my first qustionstion was to ensure our roo now we was ready, which it was, but having to pay this amount just to get it early by 90 mins is just plain money grabbing. Hotels are asking customers to book directly with the hotel which we did and received a receipt with nothing to pay and TAXES WERE INCLUDED. However we had to pay 3200yen. Nowhere in the email didwhere in the receipt said this.     This is a wonderful hotel for your stay in Kyoto. Conveniently located, polite and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, clean rooms and nice ambiance. My only helpful hint is to be careful when sending luggage via takkyubin. I have always had luggage delivered in one day as most hotels use Yamato. But I didn’t realize this hotel sent my luggage by POST. So instead of one day it was TWO days. That’s my fault as it was on the ticket. But I had no idea there was a two day delivery option. So make sure you specify. Sigh.     We stayed twice at the Mitsui Garden Kyoto Station in late April and returned in May. The hotel is conveniently located, just minutes away from the station, numerous restaurants and a variety of shops.Immaculate rooms. A variety on offering at breakfast both western and Japanese, tho there is no cheese or butter available which would have been nice.However what makes this hotel is the outstanding staff. The staff is helpful, courteous, simply put a delight. Especially Andre who always made an extra effort to helping us find the Japanese equivalent to Home Depot and then printing out the bus details to get there, telling us about the luggage transfer to Kansai Airport (a life saver), assisting me in filling out the forms for the transfer and then printing out our voucher.
