  Great hotel in an awesome location if you’re happy to hear a little train noise!We had a standard twin room on the 4th floor which looked out over the local suburban railway. Room was quite small, and if you had more than 1 medium suitcase storage could be an issue!The room itself, whilst small, was clean and the bathroom was functional (shower over the bath).Being on a lower floor there was some train noise, however this only became noticeable of an evening when you went to bed - double glazed windows certainly helped in reducing it, and a set of earplugs when sleeping, would make it totally silent!Location was great when arriving and departing on the Shinkansen train - about a 150m walk (within Kyoto Station) and you’re at the hotel lobby!Reception staff were very friendly and their was no issues with them holding luggage both before check in and after check out!Would definitely stay again, but would probably spend the extra $$$ on a larger room! 都シティ 近鉄京都駅, お客様サービス / フロント オフィス at Miyako City Kintetsu Kyoto Station, responded to this review hank you very much for staying at Miyako City Kintetsu Kyoto Station.We are delighted that you praised the convenient location in the Kyoto Station area and the ease of using the Shinkansen.   The hotel is accessible directly from the Railway and the Shinkansen station.The rooms are cleaned efficiently and on time.Terrible check-in experience, my reservation couldn't be found under my name, I had to dig up Booking's reference number.   Small rooms but well-equipped and clean with views of the train tracks

  Very convenient location, though Kyoto station is huge and confusing - the entrance is downstairs on the Ground Floor near to Uniqlo. Numerous restaurants within the building and nearby so no need to have breakfast in the hotel.The "standard" rooms are tiny. The "wide" rooms are small but do have a separate dressing room and wardrobe (next to the bathroom), which gives you some storage space for clothes and suitcases.The bathroom is well-equipped with a bath that has a powerful shower.   Ideal location for exploring Kyoto and use of bullet train

  Cannot fault this hotel. Is within station but you would not realise. 5 minutes from bullet train and ideal location for going to Nara, Hiroshimo etc for day. Rooms are small but that's expected in Japan. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds and powerful shower.Surrounds by shopping malls and eating areas.   Great Position, Very Comfortable

  Absolutely ideal for an overnight stop. We arrived back in Kyoto late afternoon and had an early train out to Kanazawa the next morning. The hotel is down the stairs opposite the JR Central gates at the Hachijo Exit end. We received a warm welcome. The room was a reasonable size for Japan. Bed was very comfortable, water hot and WiFi good. We had breakfast included. A good variety of food to cover all tastes. Plenty of places to get dinner in the station too.
