    Small but great location.

    rating14 Mar 2026

We were in Tokyo for a few days of sight seeing and this hotel was in the perfect location. Just a short walk away from the Senso Ji temple, Tokyo Skytree and major transportation hubs to Shibuya and Shinjuku where you ABSOLUTELY need to go to the FREE Metropolitan government building for the best FREE view of Tokyo and surrounding areas including a great view of mt Fuji. No need to pay for the Tokyo skytree or Tokyo tower!!! You’re also a 5 minute walk from Pignic cafe where you can visit and feed miniature pigs. There are many places to stay in Tokyo but we found Asakusa the best for getting around. The subway station is a 5 minute walk which can also be used from the airport. The room was really small but functionally and honestly, just a place to sleep & shower. There are several APA hotels in this area so if one is full, they’ll help you to another. AH浅草 雷門 宿泊, オーナー at APA Hotel Asakusa Kaminarimon, responded to this review Thank you very much for staying at APA Hotel Asakusa Kaminarimon. As you mentioned, Asakusa Station, the nearest station to our hotel, is directly accessible from Narita and Haneda airports without transfers. It's also directly accessible from Shinagawa Station, a Shinkansen (bullet train) stop, making it a very convenient base for your trip.We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Tokyo sightseeing. As you mentioned, there are several APA Hotels in the Asakusa area. Therefore, even if our hotel is fully booked, we can find and recommend a nearby APA Hotel. If you need to make a reservation urgently, please feel free to speak to our front desk staff at any time.We would be happy to assist you.Thank you very much for taking the time to post your review. We hope you will consider staying with us again if you have the opportunity to visit Asakusa in the future. We look forward to welcoming you back.Takahashi/Receptionist

    Good location

    rating18 Apr 2024

If you arrive at Haneda the Toei Asakusa line takes you right to the Asakusa area without the need to change trains. This is advantageous as you don't want to lug your heavy luggage around looking for the correct platform if you have to change trains. Same for when you depart but not all trains go to Haneda. There will be signs to tell you if the approaching train is going to Haneda. If you go to subway entrance A2b there is an elevator. From the subway entrance it is a short walk to the hotel. But there are many APA hotels around the same vicinity. Make sure you get the right one.Check in was fast and easy. Access to the lift is via key card. The room is typical of most mid range hotels, small with little space to move around but with all the necessary amenities. There was a fridge, kettle, tv, slippers, toiletries. The bathroom is also typical, tight space with a small bathtub, wc with integrated bidet.Check out is early 10am but you can keep your luggage with them. The staff is very helpful. The hotel is close to the Sensoji Temple and the Sumida Park. The tourist information centre is also nearby as are convenience stores and many restaurants and shops. Asakusa is a nice part to be in but be aware that this part of Tokyo is farther from the centre of town than Shinjuku or Shibuya. Subway travel will take longer time and fewer connections. AH浅草 雷門 宿泊, オーナー at APA Hotel Asakusa Kaminarimon, responded to this review Thank you for staying with us and giving us your feedback. We are very happy that you had a pleasant trip!As you mentioned, we are close to famous sightseeing spots such as Sensoji temple, Kaminarimon and Sky Tree. Stations and restaurants are also near here. We are used by a lot of overseas customers as sightseeing base.We are happy if we could help your sightseeing.APA Hotel provides original high-quality pillows, duvets, and yukatas in the guest rooms. The high quality of our amenities have been well received by many customers. We, APA HOTEL, are categorized as a "New Urban Hotel". We have prioritized our concept of functionality and the convenience of our rooms. We hope that you choose to stay with us again for your next visit here in Tokyo.Nakamura / Receptionist

    Great Hotel in Asakusa!

    rating08 Jun 2023

The APA Asakusa Kaminarimon Hotel delivers due to its location, amenities, breakfast options, and excellent customer service. Our student group stayed in May/June in this hotel and next door, Kaminarimon Minami. Both hotels are great, but this one stands out for having all the amenities the business traveler needs. First, it has a washer and dryer on the first floor, while the other hotel next door does not have one. The restaurant Tsunagu, serves breakfast to both hotels, and it provides a wide variety of breakfast options, including drinks. The staff members were friendly each morning and worked 30 minutes earlier to accommodate our team. Rooms are decent and are meant to meet the business traveler, approximately 100 sq. ft. The front desk staff was more than attentive to our requests and was able to extend a helping hand. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will consider this hotel for next year as we plan our next student group visit. Ever been roasted alive?

    rating22 Feb 2020

We stayed here in August 2019... great trip. We are staying here now, and find that the Aircon is switched off in the winter. The desk says to have air we must open our window. So it's either roast or stay awake because of outside noise. We're paying the same price, so it's not clear why Aircon is no longer included.... ahasa-ka, フロント オフィス マネージャー at APA Hotel Asakusa Kaminarimon, responded to this review Thank you for your stay at APA HOTEL Asakusa Kaminarimon. We are really sorry for our inconvenience. Because the air conditioners of this building become heater during this season, we cannot change the mode individually. We have the machine that expel cold air. So we can lend you it. If you want to have it, please call us anytime. Thank you for writing the review. Receptionist / Sugata
