    Comfortable Bargain for Solo Travellers

    rating30 Apr 2026

This is technically a "business hotel", but it is also perfect for solo travellers. For couples the rooms/beds may be a bit small, but for a solo person travelling for work or tourism it is perfect. I've been here twice now, 8 years apart and both times it was a perfect stay. The rooms despite being small, are nice, clean with comfortable beds and good air conditioning. But the best thing is the amenities. Things like the rooftop onsen being open all night (sauna till 1am) so you can get back at midnight, wash and dry your clothes while relaxing in the sauna and baths. There's also free drinks, ice creams, late night ramen and various other things that just make staying here very convenient. Many four star hotels that cost far more will have much bigger, fancier rooms, but will actually have less/inferior facilities, making this place a bargain.

My first Onsen Hotel experience - Dormy Inn Akihabara

    rating14 Aug 2025

This was my very first experience staying at an onsen hotel, and it was absolutely amazing. From now on, whenever I return to Japan, I’ll always choose an onsen hotel. What made Dormy Inn so special was the combination of friendliness, cleanliness, and the rooftop baths — soaking under the sky was truly unforgettable. The woman’s side didn’t have the cold plunge but the indoor and outdoor spa and single bath spa was so refreshing and then to go into the super hot sauna was accelerating .After each spa session, they even provided complimentary snacks: ice cream and popsicles in the afternoon and probiotic drinks in the morning. The thoughtful amenities went far beyond expectations. They offered free shampoo (five different kinds), conditioners, razors, shaving cream, moisturizers, toners, lotions, hair dryers, brushes, towels — even a washing machine (free to use) and a dryer (just 25 cents). I could do my laundry while enjoying the spa!One day we walked for 10 hours on the hard cement streets of Tokyo. The onsen saved me every day — we soaked for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that day. Normally, we used it morning and night, since it’s open from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m. You can enjoy it almost anytime you want. The rooms are small, but honestly, I wasn’t there to spend time in the room. The real joy was in the spa. And with the affordable price, Dormy Inn is unbeatable. In short: Dormy Inn gave me the perfect introduction to the onsen hotel experience. It was healing, relaxing, and unforgettable. I can’t wait to return.

    Nice amenities

    rating05 Jul 2024

The hotel is located close to Suehirocho station and is a short walk from Akihabara. I checked in using Japanese as the staff that day didn’t seem particularly confident in English. Not a problem, I don’t expect bilingual staff at local business hotels such as this one. I really liked the various amenities! I used the public bath on the top floor every day. The public bath features a covered and an open-air hot bath, a cold bath, and a sauna. They kept the sauna really hot, usually about 97 degrees Celsius during my stay. The open-air side even had a TV. The top floor also had complimentary ice cream, vending machines, and a manga library. Nightly free half bowl of ramen was also really appreciated. The room was standard among business hotels. My only complaint was it was slightly musty. Perhaps due to it being June and humid due to rain. It was slightly more expensive than the competition but I really liked the amenities so I would be happy to stay here again.

Great stay at Dormy Inn Akihabara

    rating03 Dec 2023

Dormy Inn Akihabara is a must-place to stay for both adults and kids. 1 block away from the popular Akihabara electric town. It's an accessible (1 min) walk to the Suehirocho sta which have access to business districts like Akasaka Mitsuke and is very close to tourist spots like Asakusa, Roponggi, Ueno Parks & Zoo.Food is great - a combination of rice which Asians like myself would need, healthy varieties of green salads, fish, tofu, breads etc., which will make you full.At night, you get an easy access to their onsen bath with free unlimited ice cream and soba. Finally, you have nothing to worry with your laundry as it's free of charge.

    Good location

    rating05 Dec 2019

Hotel was in a good location where there is 3 different train lines. Room was a little bit small but that’s fine. Room service was good where Everyday they will change a new robe and make our bed. There is also free ramen from 930pm-11pm. Their public onsen was good too where they provide hair dryer, comb n etc after ur bath. Will suggest to go at night-around 9pm where there is less people. There is also washing machine where u can do ur laundry for free but the dryer needs to pay :( Other than that, will come back here again.
