    Not recommended

    rating16 Oct 2024

I’m afraid this place did not meet expectations and I cannot recommend. Our non smoking room had a bad smell; musty with stale cigarette. The whole place just felt like it needed a really good clean. The walls in the onsen are thick with dust! I was really pleased that we only stayed one night. I was disappointed to find that the onsen is not available to women except from 7:30pm on weekends and public holidays (so, ladies, late night or morning bathing is not possible sorry!). *There is a poster which indicates that onsen availability for women will increase from December 2024.Service was perfectly fine but nothing special. A true Fawlty Towers moment was when I asked for some drinking water at breakfast. The response was “no”, on the basis that the day prior when we had checked in we had been given a small water bottle. Then the staff member suggested that I could pour myself some boiling hot water and add some ice and wait for it to cool. I noticed later in the day there was a jug of cold water available. The best thing about this hotel is its location. But I would look for something else nearby!

Not for women! Solo or couples!

    rating09 Mar 2023

BEWARE Not recommended for solo females OR couples with females! I chose this place because of the listed spa amenity. It says separate areas for men and women. FALSE that is a lie! There is 1 area only, and separate DAYS for men and women. Men get 5 days (weekdays), women get 2 days (weekends). I arrived Sunday night, and the lady took so long to check me in and finally got to explaining the spa at which point I said, wait, so I only have 20 minutes now to use the spa? She said "Sorry, 15 min sorry" So I had to rush, while she was still talking to me about the ramen I don't care! So I got to use the spa for 10 min! So I booked another hotel, Super Hotel I stayed at before that I know has 2 separate areas and the spa is open ALL night until 9am. I asked Dormy to give me a refund because of the false advertising. Of course they say sorry no. I would not have stayed there if I had known this. Seeing that I was a single female booking they should have notified me. And what I really cannot tolerate is gender inequality. I know this is a more male dominate society, but that is old and backwards and I do not support that type of thinking. Please do not support this gender inequality! If you are a woman, this is NOT the hotel for you. Location is also weird and not much to walk to. Who cares about the Starbucks you can get that anywhere. I left first thing in the morning, I don't care if I lost money on it, I wasn't going to stay there a minute longer.

    Good spot

Great small hotel almost alongside Meguro river, shame it was January and not April, would be an amazing location during Cherry Blossom season!Very clean throughout with decent size rooms compared to other similar hotel rooms in Tokyo!Doesn’t serve breakfast but always coffee/tea etc for free in the lobby! Starbucks opposite hotel so no problem!Friendly, English speaking staff, comfy clean bed, will definately stay again!

Great location, good price and service

    rating06 May 2019

I stayed 4 nights the first week of April with the sakuras just in full bloom by the river Meguro only a few steps away from the hotel. It was magical, the best area to stay in Tokyo if you like authentic, friendly and beautiful neighbourhood. The area is full with nicest restaurants and shops. Close to the metro station and very central. The staff was so polite and they spoke enough english. The room had everthing, super clean, sound proof plus good green tea and a kettle. I have to say i found the building of the hotel and the rooms nicer than they look in the fotos. The price was a real bargain for Tokyo. Had a great stay and hope to be back next spring!
