Great stay for Tokyo exploration - can really recommend the REN-room.

    rating13 Jun 2025

We stayed in this hotel in the 'REN'-room for 5 nights. The atmosphere of the 'REN' room is great, with a combination of modern and classic Japanese style. We had plenty of room to move around and place all our luggage as it is a very spacious room for Tokyo standards. We really enjoyed the fact that in this type of room, the minibar was included and refilled each day.As we had a long trip in Japan ahead of us, it was very pleasant that the room included a washing machine in the room so we could do our laundry. The location of the hotel was good, with just a couple minutes walk from the nearest bus station and just a little further away from the metro station Roppongi Hills. A perfect location from which you can explore the entire bustling city of Tokyo! The Wifi in the room worked well. The staff was also very friendly, they all spoke English and made no trouble to keep our luggage for a little while when we arrived a bit before check-in.For this style of hotel, we unfortunately did not think the breakfast was good enough. Choices were little and it got boring after a night or 2. If we were to book the hotel again next time, we would not book a stay with breakfast but instead would go to a konbini to grab ourselves some breakfast. Also, there is unfortunately not really a view from the room in which we stayed. The window overlooked the highway, but luckily when closed the sound did not bother us as all.

    Great location in Tokyo!

    rating01 Nov 2024

Nice location in a busy city, close to metro and bus stations (which is very important in Tokyo!). We had a spacious room and I really enjoyed a bathtub :) Good variety for breakfast (japanese salad dressing is to die for!!), also free welcoming coctails at the bar were a nice touch. Really enjoyed our stay!

Not designed for individuals with mobility issues

    rating31 Oct 2024

This hotel is not designed to accommodate individuals with mobility issues. Entry to the hotel has no handrail, but has three steep steps with nothing to hold on to. To enter the bathroom, one must step over a threshold of approximately 12 inches. To enter the bathtub/shower, there is a three foot ledge to step over.

Poorly maintained dirty rooms, mediocre amenities

    rating08 Dec 2023

This was the worst hotel during our long stay in Japan. And we payed a fairly high rate. We stayed in the patio room, I believe it’s supposed to be a nice room but found a room split by a bunch of dry walls and weird steps. For example the bathroom was high on a step and inside the bathroom you feel like stepping on a hollow floor and walls are dry walls full of cracks everywhere. Also nowhere to hang a hand towel in the bathroom and the sink counter is tiny so you can’t even leave the towel on the counter. The walls were also so dirty full of splashes. The hair dryer was so dirty and sticky. The room has a small wet bar with sink and fridge, our fridge didn’t work but housekeeping put waters inside but didn’t bother to report a non functional fridge. The walls around the wet bar were full of splashes easily removed with a paper, which means cleanliness was not good. They offer robes, slippers and some sort of uncomfortable viscose robe, so no pajamas just two sets of robes one fluffy and one uncomfortable. The tub was very nice, but to get there you had to jump up on a higher wall/ step and watch your head to go through a short door as you jump in and out (I’m very short myself). The room is all about the tub but no bubbles were provided, it’d be a nice touch. The room offered no body lotion, which is usually pretty standard. When we checked in they gave us a card saying they would clean our room only on one specific day of our 3 night stay, I thought that was a rude thing specially considering how poor the cleaning was and the level and rate of hotel compared to others in the area. The card did say they’d clean extra if requested, so we did ask for service everyday. Breakfast was mediocre, not western, not Japanese, I don’t know what that was. Service all around the hotel was odd, everybody seemed confused and shy everytime. Almost as if avoiding to talk to you so you don’t ask for anything. And I did not complain about anything, we just checked in, ate breakfast and checked out. Overall I’d not recommend staying here, they have a lot of work to do on cleaning, aesthetic, and functionality of the room. Service needs more training to make guests feel welcome.

    Quirky hotel with quaint rooms

    rating18 Jul 2023

The hotel is centrally located in Roppongi and walking distance to many places. It is modern and definitely deserving a design award. The room I had was spacious for a Japanese hotel and had all amenities including fridge and Nespresso maker. My only gripe was that the work space is separated from the bathroom by a floor-to-ceiling glass window. Makes for a fun experience if you are sharing such room with someone... (1 point deduction). What I really disliked was the breakfast. Neither Japanese nor western, it seemed a confused mixture of flavors. I mean, I have never been in a Japanese hotel that has no rice cooker for breakfast or offers miso soup. This was for me a huge letdown and I strongly encourage any visitors to not pre-pay for the "breakfast."
