  EXCELLENT LOCATION

  This hotel is very close to Ueno Underground Station, just a mere 5mins walk. Surrounding the hotel are many restaurants and shops that don't close till late at night so it is a safe area as there are still many people on the streets even at 11pm. The hotel is also close to the Ueno-Keisei Station about 7mins walk where you can take the Electric train direct to and from Narito Airport hence the reason I chose this location to stay whilst exploring Tokyo. The room is quite compact which is expected in Tokyo but it is clean and bedding is comfortable. It has all the essential amenities which can be freely replenished from the shelves at your own will by the reception. They even supply face and body creams, earplugs, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, face towel, hair treatment etc. They also have a small canteen that supplies free drinks and microwaves to reheat food. Staff were friendly, polite and can speak English.   Very RUDE Front Desk

  There wasnt enough room to move or a place to eat in the room for a family of 3. But the real issue was the cleanliness. We found an empty bottle under our bed on the day we were leaving when my husband was reaching for his shoes. They only clean the rooms every 4 days so they should do it very well and thoroughly! Secondly, the attitude of the chubby Japanese man stationed in the front desk was such a turn off. We came back to the hotel on our first night with take out food because it was raining and we were also tired from the flight that day when we saw a couple eating at the hotel's dining room so we also went in. So far, all the hotels in other countries weve stayed at allow their guests to use their dining facilities even beyond serving time. We were not told that it is prohibited at Hotel Wing to use the room after 8pm. We were only told upon check in that drinks were available til 8pm. We had just barely sat inside the dining room when this big Japanese man suddenly stormed in very mad and shouted at everyone on top of his voice. He coud have told us off in a better and more respectful manner. This kind of person must not be tolerated and shoudnt be engaging in a hospitality business becasue not everyone uderstands their rules right away. Remember that there are language barriers to consider too. I hope the mangement gets to see this feedback and review the camera to see for themselves their employee's behavior on the night of Sep 6 around 9pm. It was our first day in Japan and it truly gave us a bad impression.   Small but adequate in a centrally located area of Tokyo near Ueno Station

  The Hotel Wing International Ueno was a good overnight stay just outside of Ueno Station. We had a one night stay here booked via Booking.com. The room is a little cramped but standard in Japan. We had a shower/tub combination in the bathroom, along with Toto bidet, small desk area, slippers, coffee, tea, and pajamas for our use. The room was clean with no view. The stay came with a small breakfast that included juice, coffee from a dispensing machine, and some pastries. The bed was a tad firm and it got hot in the room because my husband inadvertently turned off everything by hitting the "master" button. The A/C once it got going was adequate. There were amenities downstairs in the lobby for the guests. I appreciated the packets of DHC oils, creams, and cleansers. There is also a coffee machine and vending machine in the lobby for guests.   Last minute booking due to a change in plans. It was fine- the equivalent to a Holiday Inn in the US. Located a reasonable walk to both the train station and Ueno Park. The lobby is very small and can be overcrowded at prime times, and there is free coffee, but not overnight. There is a sign on the door that the lobby is locked after a certain time "to prevent crime"- I didn't feel unsafe here at all. I was not expecting the excellent view of the Tokyo Skytree.   A standard budget hotel with very small room. Hotel do provide simple buns and hot drinks for morning breakfast.
