    Close to Ikebukuro station

    rating29 Apr 2026

Room was small but overall good. The area is a few minute walk away from Ikebukuro station and sunshine city. Next to a family mart and cafe which is very convenient. I love Ikebukuro as there’s plenty of shopping and activities. Although tiny they have a bathtub great to soak in after a long day.

Walk from Ikebukuro Station East Exit or the Exit 39 underpass

    rating18 Jun 2024

Location is only a couple of hundred meters from Ikebukuro Station East Exit, it's a completely straight walk on a busy street. When you come out the station and see Don Quijote across the street you can walk straight up the street on the left-hand side. You can also use the Exit 39 underpass to/from the station if it's raining, you'll come out about halfway to the hotel. There are lots of shops and eateries around and the hotel is right next door to a Family Mart. It's about a 10-15min walk to Sunshine City. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. We've stayed at another Keio Presso Inn before so we anticipated the compact room. Booked a Standard Double Room and got a corner room by the elevator which just so happens to be slightly more elongated than the other rooms. The bed is firm and small for two adults. The soundproofing is adequate but you can kind of hear shuffling on the other side of the wall to the adjacent room. Since there's only a tiny coat rack available as clothes storage, the room would've benefitted from hooks on the empty walls which there were none of. Breakfast wasn't included so we didn't have it.Front desk staff was professional but there was some miscommunication. At the other Keio Presso Inn we stayed at the check-out time was 11am so we mistakenly assumed it would be the same here, however, at this location the check-out time's at 10am. Front desk called us as we hadn't checked out on time and we apologized and asked if 11am was okay, they responded, "11 OK" and hung up. We were then charged for the extra hour when we finally checked out, something we would've appreciated to have been notified of on the phone.

Top Notch for a brand new traveler to Japan.

    rating26 May 2023

I was so impressed with the service and the cleanliness. Our room had an adjustable Serta bed which was great for my sleep apnea. The bathtub was spacious and built for anyone's size. The breakfast was diverse and fresh, and included! Close to the station and Sunshine City. If every location is as good as this one I will certainly continue staying with this brand on my travels.

Not as good as the hotel thinks it is

    rating28 Sept 2019

The rooms are about the same size as at the economical Toyoko Inn brand, and barely any better outfitted, but cost almost twice as much. So what do you get for that extra money?A breakfast that is slightly better than Toyoko's, a fancier lobby (several floors up from the street entrance), a mattress that feels like plywood covered with thin cloth, and a TV that turns on EVERY time the guest enters the room. What it doesn't have is a place to print a boarding pass or anything else. I've been to many hundreds of hotels in 50+ countries and never before encountered a hotel that lacked that facility. The desk person actually told me to go do it at a convenience store. Japan is a very modern country so should be embarrassed this deficiency. This hotel is overpriced for what it offers.
