    Good base

    rating19 Apr 2026

Rooms are small as per Japan standards but not overly small. Perfect for one person. It has all the basic amenities. The main advantage is the onsite hot bath and the free ramen and drinks at night. Staff were prompt in solving problems, though they were official-behaving and seemed to lack warmth. Most lacked basic English and had to communicate using translation apps, which was time wasting. Location is in a rather boring part of town but it is a short train ride to transport hubs and attractions, like only 2 stops to Ueno or to Tokyo Central.

    Always good choice for convenience

Dormy Inn Kanda is a basic hotel with small clean comfortable rooms and an onsen on the twelfth floor. It’s perfect for our requirements because when visiting Tokyo we just need a place to sleep, spending most of the day sightseeing, shopping and going to our favourite restaurants. Location is excellent, near transit, close to restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores, etc. within walking distance to Akihabara for the electronics stores. Short subway trips to Ginza and Tokyo station. Very reasonable prices. Always nice to end a busy day in their onsen and then off to bed.

Modern hotel with onsen bath and great location in Tokyo

    rating23 Dec 2025

Great location within Tokyo, near Kanda station and within easy walking distance of Akihabara. Clean and spacious rooms with many amenities, including Dormy Inn loungewear that can be worn indoors. The hotel also provides many clean towels everyday, if needed. There is separate male/female onsen on the 12th floor, which is great both in the morning or in the evening after a day out sightseeing. Free ramen is also on offer in the evening. I have stayed twice at this location and have really enjoyed my stay here.

    Well located for everything

The hotel is an easy 6 min walk from Kanda station, Easy check in with English widely spoken. Good choice of food and drink places nearby. Good hotel onsen, ideal after lots of walking.Queen Rooms are fine, not massive but they are ok for two with big cases.

Marginally upgraded Dormy Inn walking distance from Akihabara

    rating29 Nov 2024

I had a nice experience at the Dormy Inn in Akihabara so I gave the Premium Kanda a shot for one night. The Kanda location is still walking distance from Akihabara if your aim is to visit that area. The only real difference I noticed from the standard line was the larger, proper lobby. I have no pictures this time as the room was the same as any other business hotel room you may find. Nice public bath and the usual nice Dormy Inn amenities like ice cream and evening noodle service. Not a bad stay at all and I would gladly stay again assuming a good deal.
