    Great Hotel - Bad Manager.......!!

    rating21 Oct 2023

Our family stayed here for 5 nights in October 2023. The hotel is reasonably priced, the location is great (near Sky Tree, train stations, restaurants, convenience stores etc), and in the most part the staff were very helpful and super friendly. We did have one big BAD experience though!! We arrived at the hotel expecting to be checked into our interconnecting family room that we had booked a couple of months previously from Australia, but were told by the staff that we had to have seperate rooms for the first night, and then move all our gear from one of the rooms to the interconnecting room the next evening. The staff were very apologetic about it and were not sure why this had happened!Luckily I had a print out of our booking stating we had booked and paid for interconnecting rooms, so they called the manager, who arrived about 45 minutes later - this is where our complaint starts....!!The manager was VERY rude and abrupt as soon as he walked into the lobby and said that we should have known about it because he had emailed the 3rd party who it was booked through - I reminded him that these companies deal with thousands of booking, and that he should have emailed me direct, but regardless of this, it should not be happening as we had booked and paid for our interconnecting rooms months earlier!!He abruptly blamed a computer error, and rudely asked did we still want to stay there or go and stay somewhere else...!! (as we are sitting in the lobby very tired after a long trip, with 3 young children....).So, just a gentle warning about the manager..........The rest of the staff were so lovely and helpful, and as I mentioned earlier, the hotel itself is nice and clean and in a great location. The view from the roof is amazing.Just be careful of the manager from Fawlty Towers.......!!

I chose this hotel/hostel by their location and economical pricing .They have minimum service , minimum features, minimum space but the room is cute, cozy and pretty clean..Hotel staffs are very polite. What l liked most is their location. Train station, Asakusa, Tokyo sky tree, our favorite Sushiro, other local restaurants, Japanese convenience stores…Everything is within walking distance and we’ve never been bored .I will definitely be back !

    Young & pleasant accommodation

    rating30 Jan 2020

I booked 10 nights at Playsis. This multi-gender hostel is located near Sumida Bridge and River, in a really quiet neighborhood but with all the necessary services ( konbini, atm, and so on ). Only 7/8 by feet from Asakusa Station for Ginza and Asakusa Line. 10/12 mins by feet from the incredible vivid Senso-ji temple area. There's a smoking area in the front access, than an area with all the furniture like water boiler, basin, a table, an isle for eating, a comfy sofa and an automatic drink machine. 3 floors of bedrooms ( 2 multi-gender and 1 only female) plus a floor with a Japanese style suite and at the top, a really good open place for a 360 degrees view with the SkyTree. My big room was supposed for 30 people but in late January there aren't that much. Really clean bed, moquette, bathroom, shower and a bath too. Quiet in the night. Requires (as always in Japan) to release your shoes when coming in. The staff is all youngster and multilingual. They're friendly and open with every necessity. Highly recommended!!! Arigatou...
