  It's not a five star hotel and it doesn't charge five star prices but it does deserve a five star review for what it delivers.Great location in Riga Old Town, helpful staff, hearty breakfast, clean and comfortable room, great value and I slept well throughout my stay.Very happy guest! , Owner at Rija Domus Hotel, responded to this review Dear John, Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review!   Very unfriendly personnel. The room’s bathroom smelled super badly, the shower looked ugly and the shower curtains contained stains and mold. The room had dust everywhere & was very dirty.   If you in expecting anymore luxury than it’s 3 star rating, you will be setting yourself up to fail.The hotel rooms are basic, but for the price we paid we were expecting nothing less. The room was spacious, clean and warm which, given the temperatures outside was very welcome. We were in room 66, twin beds which were comfortable for us, en suite shower room which was perfectly fine and a view over the old town rooftops. There’s no kettle but I took a travel one. The staff were friendly and super helpful, storing our luggage when we arrived early and again after checkout, and booking us a taxi back to the airport. Breakfast was a typical European one, so don’t expect a full English! I can imagine the square outside gets busy in the summer months, but in March it was quiet so we had no need of the earplugs provided.   Location is great!

  I stayed in this Hotel in Riga at the start of Feb 2025. The pretty cobbled streets to wander through upon finding the hotel are charming. The food in the hotel was also lovely with a mix of fish and vegetables which felt very authentic and eastern european. The bed was a little hard for my liking however the room was nicely heated and spacious, the bathroom had a walking shower, did get the floor wet if used for too long but was also very spacious. The staff in the hotel were pleasant and helpful, I overall enjoyed my stay, would recommend and certainly return!   I can't recommend this hotel, even as a budget place. It's old, dirty, unkempt, and smells bad, starting right from the reception. The room also has an unpleasant smell of sewage. The beds are very uncomfortable, the mattresses are hard - we were not able to sleep well. There is no hand soap in the bathroom, but they provide shower caps. Soap only in the shower!
