This hotel has surpassed our expectations

    rating08 May 2026

Amazing hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms are nice and well organised. Beds are comfortable. We had a city view room on a higher floor which we loved. Everything was clean and looked nice. The location of the hotel is perfect, in the middle of the mainstreet Laisvės al. and a walking distance of e.g. the big shopping mall Akropolis. We arrived by car and there was parking at the hotel (note we checked in on time). We decided to have dinner at the restaurant (named 55) in the hotel ... and it was a culinary journey. The dishes looked amazing, were delicious and full of flavour. We learned that the Chef has earned the title of Best Lithuanian Chef 2026. And well deserved!! The next day our breakfast was also extensive and well organised by the staff. Truly this hotel has surpassed our expectations. Thank You ;-)

Terrible to customers, avoid this place

    rating26 Apr 2026

Awful place, very unfriendly to customers, absolutely 0 flexibility! I've booked expensive room (a suite) but unfortunately meeting that was supposed to happen no matter what - was cancelled! I've contacted a hotel in advance (!) asking them friendly is it possible to cancel with no fee or at least with a discount - but guess what? They've refused and charged the full price! It's a robbery, so NEVER again to this hotel! I suggest you to avoid this place.

    Home from home

    rating30 Mar 2026

My good wife had to have a hip replacement surgery in Kaunas and we were recommended this hotel by previous people who had visited for the same reasons We didn’t arrive at hotel until midnight but we were met by a friendly guy on the reception We were allocated our room on the third floor overlooking the tree lined pedestrianised road called Liberty Avenue The room was spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was a good size with a walk in shower which was good as my wife wouldn’t have been able to get in a bath after the surgery. A good supply of soft white towels and really nice hand soap and shampoo The beds were very comfortable with separate duvets and lovely pillows There is a safe in the wardrobe, at no extra charge, plus a well stocked mini fridge which we didn’t useOnly drawback is there very limited English tv channels (BBC world news) to help pass the time when recovering from the surgery You are able to have a kettle and cups from reception, again at no charge (Little supermarket 100 yards away for milk or any essentials)There is a gym, sauna and plunge pool which we didn’t useBreakfast had a good selection be cooked or continental with juices and teas and coffee The breads were really good Evening meals are available but this is an extra charge. The hotel is on a long avenue with many places to eat and have a drink The staff at the hotel are fantastic from the chambermaid the breakfast / restaurant staff and the girls on reception always smiling and having time for information or talking in general Thank you guysWould we stay at this hotel again, without a doubt 10/10

Delightful first stay at Hotel Kaunas

    rating14 Feb 2026

I had visited Kaunas over 30 years ago but never stayed there. So I was looking forward to staying there and seeing how the city had changed. My first delightful surprise was the Hotel Kaunas, my wife had been there 3 days prior to my arrival and was out when I arrived however she had told the receptionists I’d be arriving that day and to have a key ready for me, which I was given. We had a 4th floor room overlooking the main street, Laisves Aleja, which is a pedestrian street about 1.6 km long. The room was large and had everything we needed, a highlight for me, as a man who wet shaves was to have an extending mirror with a magnifying side in the bathroom. Another plus in the bathroom was the large shower head, there was a smaller shower attachment also if you don’t like being blasted with water. Like other people coming to Kaunas, my wife had come for surgery on her right knee which was successful, following discharge from the clinic she was collected every morning and taken for physio, which left me free for about 2 hours. This time allowed me to use the hotel’s gym, I had some of my gym gear with me for another reason, so was prepared. The hotel has a very well equipped gym, sauna and plunge pool. Usually I had the gym to myself. When my wife came back from the physio the receptionists were ready with ice packs for anyone who wanted one as part of the ongoing treatment following surgery. The breakfast room was in the basement, no lift access but most people managed the stairs, the staff would bring up food to the ground floor restaurant if asked, the choice of food was very good and gluten free bread was available if requested. The ground floor restaurant is open only in the evenings and afternoons at weekend. We found the steak was excellent. Housekeeping was excellent, our room was always tidied up and cleaned for us. As I said the hotel is on a pedestrian street, vehicular access is via the roads that cross over at right angles with the hotel having a carriage type entrance to the back entrance and car park. Most cab drivers know this, sometimes they will pick up or drop off on the road. With vehicles crossing over the Laisves Aleja, pedestrians have priority so cars will always stop to allow people to cross.Since this trip we have been back, other than having a room on the back of the hotel nothing is any different, we were warmly welcomed by staff who remembered us, in fact all the staff were polite. It is certainly a hotel we are looking forward to going back to next month.

Clean but silly having to pay for extra pillows

    rating11 Dec 2025

The hotel is in a good location and is clean. The breakfast is not great. Bacon is barely cooked and sausages are not the same as UK/Ireland. Only fried or boiled eggs. Restaurant has very little options and is expensive. I booked a junior suite and paid a lot for 5 days. I asked for 2 extra pillows because I had surgery and needed to be propped up. They would only give me one and said I would have to pay for a second one. That is ridiculous for a 4 star hotel. Most rooms come with spare pillows. It was the only request I had for my time.
