    Good modern hotel

    Very modern hotel, most likely a former Ibis Styles. Spacious and bright rooms with a good view. Staff was mostly helpfu. Breakfast selection was also good while staff there was sometimes very helpful while sometimes quite ignorant. The hotel's location within Ipoh worked well for us. Unfortunately the rooftop was closed during our stay.

    The MU Hotel in Ipoh is a nice little hotel which is located in a quiet neighbourhood less than 20 mins away from the airport. The room is clean and the beds were comfortable. We did not take the breakfast option because there were local eating places to have a good meal. At night, there is a streetfood corner where you can get all types of local delights, like cha kway teow, bbq chicken wings etc. If you want something better, there is a Korean restaurant across the road. If there is anything I want to feedback is that the hotel wifi is unreliable. There were several times when the wifi signal suddenly disappeared, and we had to use our data.

    Likes:(1) Nice contemporary décor. (2) Reasonably friendly and helpful staff. (3) One universal power outlet and one USB A port were provided. See photo.Dislikes: (1) Hotel’s location is not the most convenient for walking to the usual tourist places in Ipoh town. (2) Check-in staff did not ask whether Agoda had collected the Malaysian tourism tax for the hotel stay (which Agoda had already collected) and almost double-charged me. (3) Hotel did not check that the room safe was unlocked and usable before assigning the room to me. Wasted time having to chase for remedial action. (4) The main door to room kept slamming. This was startling to me and annoying to the surrounding rooms/guests. (5) Toilet seat kept dropping down. You needed to constantly hold it up during use. (6) Hotel's wifi network was rather slow. (7) There is an egg station at breakfast but it was not always manned. (8) The gym on mezzanine floor was kept locked during my stay.     one sinking mattress, one good mattress

    i wanted to rate this hotel very good but for their sinking mattress. Pros - good wifi, good breakfast, hot water for showers, provided towels and toiletries, 2 key cards, safe and kettle providedCons - room 502 one mattress sinks in the centre and I am only abt 62kgs till i had to go over to my spouse bed to sleep. every door creaks which grates on your ears.     Great stay at MU hotel with excellent service

    Hotel was well located, with coffee shops nearby. They provided airport pickup and return trip. Transport to nearby attractions like Concubine Lane was also available. Breakfast buffet was adequate with eggs and noodles stations. Staff was friendly and prompt in responding to our request. Bed was comfortsble and the room was clean. Definitely a hotel that I will stay again.
