  Comfortable stay in ex Tune Hotel

  Good location with 20 minutes walk from Ipoh train station . Situated between old and new town.Can get voucher to go gym within few minutes walk from hotel.Very similar furniture and fitting room set up with Tune Hotel and I found out it’s used to be Tune hotel.Some improvement I could see:No boiling kettle and free drinking water provided in the room. However we can refill water from the common walkway outside of room. No free coffee sachet and slippers provided .

  Huge underground car park is the best thing!

  We stayed at Hotel Pi for a couple of nights. Check-in was fine though we could only do it at three. The hotel allowed us to park in their underground carpark & leave our luggage before check-in, so it was helpful. The room wasn't the best - dusty surfaces which haven't been cleaned properly, a sewage stench in the shower, towels were well worn & threadbare, there was no soap provided at the sink, the aircon was very noisy with a whooshy sound. There was very limited storage space - essentially just the two tables at the sides of the bed which had space beneath but one of them was occupied by a safe so there was no space there. There was only 1 toilet roll given, with no spares, so we had to ask for more. One of the pillows was really lumpy so we had to ask for a replacement the next day. The new pillow was really comfortable. Not sure why they were still using the lumpy pillow to begin with! There is no housekeeping unless you request it, so though they had replaced the pillows, the room wasn't made up nor was the trash emptied. There are some positives about Hotel Pi. Location is good, with an easy walk to the old town & to foodie options in the new town. The massive underground carpark was very welcome. There was a water cooler next to the lift on our floor which was helpful. The lifts were also efficient so there was never a long wait for them. Overall, Hotel Pi was kinda scruffy but if you're looking for a basic place with a decent location, it's not a bad choice. Just make sure you bring some wet wipes with you as housekeeping isn't the best!

  Modern, clean, good location

  A very modern hotel with friendly staff. One of the nearer hotels to the old town (5-8 minutes) which is a plus.Lovely bathroom with excellent powerful shower. Placed to eat nearby. WiFi a little hit & miss only downside we could think of.

  used to be owned by air Asia under their Tune budget hotel chain.No complaint as a seasoned global budget traveller like me whose only expectation is safe, clean, functional, well located(depends on your needs as to whether it's near food or attractions). It fits the bill with price without frills.As to a comment below staff are not communicative, you need to appreciate most employees whom take on the role are not highly trained or paid professionals. If you can speak malay ( I m a Malaysian) you will not perhaps encounter such issues. so no compliants.If you are local , you can get a 15% discount using a Maybank credit card for the festive period.

  The standard double room we had was very small with barely enough space on the floor for our bags. No wardrobe, just 3 hangers hanging over a counter. No drawers, just 2 side tables. No fridge but there was a safe. No coffee-making facilities but we were provided with 2 bottles of drinking water every day and there was a water dispenser near the lift for us to refill our bottles which was very appreciated. The room was clean and looked quite new. Comfortable bed. We like it that private parking is always available in the basement with a security guard (though he was absent from his post most of the time!) A lift is available in the basement to access the lobby and higher floors - we could only access our floor using our room access card - good security. A few restaurants and eateries nearby. Good for a short stay.
