  Excellent location, especially with pets. Quiet side of the Smokies. A little outdated, towels are rough, and breakfast was just ok

  I had driven from the Gulf Coast at 8 am central time to get to my destination... I was really looking forward to having booked a room with a whirlpool so I could soak my aching neck and back. I had worked the past 6 1/2 weeks straight through and was ready for a wonderful, hot whirlpool & soak. Instead, the lady who checked me in told me I was not allowed in the room with my verified service dog. I disagreed and told her I was allowed and showed my service dog credentials. She still would not allow me into the room I had booked. I was furious, tired & aching !!Then she checked me into a room that the lock wouldn't work after I had moved into. Again, I had to move rooms for the night. NOT a Happy Diamond member....

  Peaceful Side of the Smokies

  The Best Western in Townsend is a good choice for folks who want to spend time around Cades Cove Great Smoky Mountains. Its 3 miles to the park and 10 miles to Cades Cove . The rooms were large with plenty of space for 4 . My room was clean i even walked barefoot and felt no grit or dirt. The breakfast was complimentary with plenty to choose from. Restaurant's ,museums and souvenir shops are within walking distance. Townsend has a7-8 mile walking /bike track in front of the hotel.

  The alive and dead stink bugs upon arrival were a harbinger of things to come. Internet dropped every 1-2 minutes, when I tried to check out the night before the gentleman refused to do so and the worst thing was all of the heavy cigarette smoke from the people below me. If you advertise being a non-smoking facility you should enforce the rule. I ended leaving on the second day a bit after midnight just to breathe fresh air. So if smoking is an issue for you (and they have no idea who's going to be a non-compliant smoker), I recommend you look elsewhere.

  ADA NON-COMPLIANT

  I require the use of a wheelchair and ADA compliant bathroom. I reserved an ADA room and was given a standard room because of my service dog and my wife's small dog. No pets in ADA rooms because other guests may have allergies. If your a handicapped veteran as am I, and you have dogs, dont go to Best Western!
